2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
12 oz bottle, stamped 4254, served in a snifter.
Pours clear, orange-copper with a modest and weak off-white head. A small amount of sediment was left at the bottom of the bottle.
Pumpkin pie spices yes, but a bit difficult to pick out with the odd mix of light smoke, cider vinegar and citrus rind. The flavor is not really any better, although, thankfully, the vinegar doesn’t make an appearance.
O: It doesn’t help that this followed a very fine Stevens Point Pumpkin, but even without that contrast this ale would fail to make a good impression. At least it has a fine label. Avoid.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Poured from a bottle. Orange color, slight white head. Smells of a spruce that I cannot think of at the moment. Medium bodied nutmeg flavor with a good finish.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 8/27/2013. Pours moderately hazy bright orange amber color with a 1-2 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of pumpkin, pear, cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, toast, wheat, floral, and yeast earthiness. Ok aromas with huge spice presence and decent malt balance; with good strength. Taste of pumpkin, pear, cinnamon, toast, clove, nutmeg, wheat, floral, and yeast earthiness. Lingering notes of pumpkin, pear, cinnamon, toast, clove, nutmeg, wheat, floral, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice and well balanced pumpkin, malt, and spice flavors; with solid complexity and no cloying sweetness after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a moderately creamy and lightly slick mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a solid pumpkin ale. Balanced malt, pumpkin, and slice flavors; and easy to drink for the ABV. Pretty enjoyable.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Draught @ Smoke & Barrel, Washington, D.C. Pours slightly hazy light amber with airy white head. Clear vinous aroma with notes of yeast and hops. Clear taste of pumpkin and malt with subtle vinous and grainy touches. Rough finish. OK but rather watery.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Poured a cloudy orange with a faint head. Not much nose. In the mouth there is not a lot going on. Fine palate, but I expect more out of a pumpkin beer.

2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle. Pretty clean gold with beige head. Spice, very strange candy like flavor, too sweet. I did not not enjoy

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
On tap half pint at Gilly's Beer & Fine Wine in Rockville, MD.
Clear, medium amber with a small off-white head and sparse lacing.
Aroma of caramel, coriander, wheat and lemon. (Hello, where is the pumpkin?)
Taste of spices, nutmeg, coriander, wheat, caramel, lemon and pumpkin fruit.
Medium body and medium/low carbonization.
Did someone mix a witbier and a pumpkin ale? As a pumpkin ale, it is rather mild and mediocre. As a witbier, it lacks the classic yeast and banana flavor. This does not work for me.

2.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottle. Pours a hazy light brown color with a small white head on it. Nose has lots of pumpkin and spices in there, though I don’t think the aroma is all that strong. Taste is dirty and grainy, and with very few spices. Not that great of a taste on it.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Amber gold with a thin white head. Aroma is strong pumpkin spice, cinnamon and slight roasted malt. Flavor is light pumpkin spice, cinnamon, nutmeg and some slight pumpkin. More pumpkin spice than actual pumpkin and the body is a little light. Nice and drinkable, but if you’re looking for a big pumpkin flavor this isn’t quite right.
