COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Gruntled Pumpkin planted the seed and started a revolution for all of pumpkin-kind. To guard the promising vines of the future that would eventually blossom to become the bottom of the barrel (and that’s a good thing) of this new pumpkin ale.

12 ounce bottle from Grape & Gourmet. Pours a hazy orange-amber color with floating particles. Medium sized fizzy head. Below average head retention. Aroma of pumpkin, cidery apples, spice and a slighty tart note. The taste is pumpkin, spice, hay, apples, strawberries, herbal hops. Medium bodied. Weird one.

DocLock (7481) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 3, 2012
Bottle from Craft Ale. Pours copper with 1-finger off-white head. Nose is floral pumpkin, malt, mild hops, syrup. The nose on this pops pretty well, and even has that slight vegetal hint that freshly cut pumpkin exudes. Tastes pretty hoppy, with malt notes, substantial pumpkin, and finishing florals. One of the hoppier pumpkin ales I have quaffed, this one is thoroughly enjoyable.

Bottle:   Orangish straw, hazy, thin to moderate frothy off-white head, fairly nice lacing.   Bright spicy nose, candied apple with nutmeg and some cinnamon.   Similar tongue, decent body and mouthfeel.   Finishes bright, nutmeg (lots of it), and cinnamon, along with some candied apple, sweet citrus peel, and a touch of caramel.   This was better than expected.   I wish more could be like this one, simple, vibrant, with a little flair of something extra.

10/16/13. 12oz bottle. Hazy orange amber pour, tiny particulates in suspension when you look close, under a small khaki head that doesn’t last or lace at all. Pumpkin spice on the aroma... of course... hints of creamed corn, bitterness, and steamed squash. Mild sweetness upfront with a distinct bitterness that punches after, green in a way, mild squashiness, corn, and more pie spice. Blech.

Draft. Pours hazy orange with an off white head. Cinnamon, pumpkin, and a toasted malty base. Restrained spices support the base beer quite well. Good stuff.

Bottle. Clear light amber color with ivory head. Pie spice, vegetal, cinnamon, caramel aromas. Medium body with average co2. Canned pie spice, caramel flavors with vegetal pumpkin meat___good

PorterPounder (5195) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - NOV 1, 2013
Albany, Ga - Warehouse Package Store - 12 oz bottle. Slightly hazy medium orange pour with a medium thick eggshell white head that sticks around a while. Aroma has is kind of ordinary, only picking up some ripening vegetable notes. Flavor has some ripening vegetable notes, just a hint of pumpkin spices. Mouthfeel is thick enough. Serviceable - nice change of pace from the over-spiced pumpkin ales out there.
