The Gruntled Pumpkin planted the seed and started a revolution for all of pumpkin-kind. To guard the promising vines of the future that would eventually blossom to become the bottom of the barrel (and thatís a good thing) of this new pumpkin ale.

Serving: 12 oz. bottle from Wegmans Leesburg. It pours a light copper color with a slight off white head. The nose is boiled carrots and pumpkin. The flavor follows suit with some pumpkin spice. Weak body with a dishwater aftertaste. This one is pretty bad.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a pint glass Aroma- Faint pumpkin and malt Appearance- This beer is a cloudy orange color with a small white head Taste- Malt, Pumpkin and a little citrus. Palate- A medium bodied beer with a mild bit of carbonation. Overall- an OK pumpkin beer, there are a lot of better ones out there.

Bottle. Pours a hazy orange body under a one finger frothy beige head. The nose is pretty spicy, but tempered fairly well with a hefty sweet caramel malt base. The flavor is a bit high on the nutmeg, and Iím tasting some heavy ginger I think. Itís still not quite as bad as many Pumpkin Ales, but itís still all about the spice and not the pumpkin meat. Medium bodied and a bit clingy with soft fizzy carbonation. Around average for the style, wouldnít seek it out for a second go around.

Boozy and some sour mash malt. Amber pour with OK head and lacing. A good beer to do a tickers ball style half a half ounce rating. Kind of a sour finish. Just seems like pumpkin with the spices. Tap sample pour at crios.

Bottle. Pours a hazy orange amber with a thin off-white head. Aroma of toasted malts, nutmeg, cinnamon and pumpkin spices. Flavor was thin and grainy with caramel, nutmeg, cinnamon and light pumpkin.

12oz bottle from Xroads. Poured a slightly chill hazed brighter burnt orange body with a smaller foamy quick fading off white head. Aroma started off with some pumpkin pie spice, fresh pumpkin meat, pumpkin seeds, dough. Medium body, sort of a milky mouthfeel with softer carbonation and a quicker fading aftertaste. Flavor isnít that good, some pumpkin meat, bad candy, brown bread and ight spices.

12 Fl. Oz. Bottle. Poured clear in a light shade of orange, small and non lasting white head. Aroma of spices, pumpkin and malts. Taste is sweet, malty, lots of pumpkin and spice, a bit hoppy too. Good beer, quite drinkable.

Pours an odd lighter orange, a color normally reserved for pale ales, not pumpkins. Minimal head, somewhat fizzy. Aroma is overwhelming spice; clov, cinnamon, nutmeg. Pumpkin pie, sure. This had been done before, many times. And quite frankly, this doesnít hold up well to those others who were first to market and therefore incurred more risk in consumer acceptance. Seems everyone wants a slice of the gimmicky pumpkin ale pie. Taste is somewhat thin and overly fizzy/carbonated. Booze isnít masked terribly well. This beer needs work. But in the end, it is a pumpkin ale and for that I enjoyed it to some extent.

Bottle Poured into a pint glass -- Very heavily carbonated, four finger-width head. Aroma is faint pumpkin and a hint of toffee. Flavor is the same, but flavor is greatly hindered by the excessive carbonation. Not a great pumpkin.

Golden in the glass with a nearly white head. Fruity-spicy in the nose, hints of peach and - of course - pumpkin. The beer starts smooth, fruity. Malty and not too sweet body. The mainpart is malty, a bit yeasty, nice subtle pumpkin-aroma with smooth sweetness. The aftertaste in smooth, pumpkin and slightly sweetness.
Nice brew, but could be much more spic and pumpkin in it! --> 10/12/10/19
