3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pint at Barley’s Asheville. Pours dark brown with good lacing. Coffee is all over the aroma. Reminds me of gas station coffee and lots of it. It’s hard to find much else in the flavor. There is a sweeter malty foundation, a hint at chocolate. It’s a very straight forward coffee porter and when taking that approach, it’s hard to mess up. It is a little thin and the coffee flavor isn’t as fully developed as I’ve found in say Pisgah Valdez or Bells Java Stout, but this is decent.
