JesseM (361), Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario, Canada Jul 18, 2008 660mL bottle, with a label that is about 20x cooler than the one pictured, of some voyageurs rowing through some rough waters. Damn, this one was good. Pours a really nice amber colour with a large tan head. What seems like a simple Belgian Wit is so much more. Right from the aroma I could tell it was going to be a good one. All the good aspects of a Wit with some delicious other malty aspects thrown in. Spicy, corriander and clove, with some roasty caramalt, given great body and feel from the yeast. Everything leads into this amazing herbal earthy finish of ground spices and a hint of bittering hops. Estery too. I loved this stuff, and could drink it all the time if it were only available in Ontario! puzzl (1715), New York, New York, USA Apr 29, 2008 Bottle as Cap Espoir. Full, potatoey, yeasty aroma, mushrooms. Decent body, unfiltered, filling, but flavor is very bland. Mostly just old, stale hops, some metal. DuffMan (1915), Calgary, Alberta, Canada Dec 28, 2007 Just as cloudy opaque as its sixpack-mate Ambree, but a darker amber. The aroma is all wheaty wit and spice. The palate is much the same, with quite a sweet spicey finish, maybe a touch of orange peel. Again, finely carbonated and very refreshing just as I found the Ambree. Very nice.
