This 100% barley malt beer is blended with roasted malts and hops to five it a spicy, crisp taste. Bottle refermentation imparts a yeast enriched flavour. Not to be confused with the different Ambree served at the Cheval Blanc brewpub.

Formerly known as Cheval Blanc Ambrée and then as Spéciale Ambrée. Recently changed to RJ No.926.

Bof

No 926...

Cloudy orange body with a nose expressing refreshing yeast and hops. The taste is slightly tangy with a clear balanced finish. Good try! Got a hold of this during the holidays season of 2010.

341 ml bottle from Gatineau IGA. Pours a hazy golden colour with small white head. Aroma is big and yeasty with notes of banana, apple, light spice and caramel. Flavour also has lots of yeasty esters with real banana character as well as apple/pear, lightly toasty grains, sweet caramel and gentle spiciness. Fizzy mouthfeel. Decent.

341ml bottle. Pours a mildly hazy pale gold with a thin white head. Smells great. Fruity Belgian blonde like notes. Yeast, paraffin, citrus, light honey, and mild apple. The flavours are on the lighter side, but there are bready notes, sultanas, and light banana up front with light bitterness in the middle and a watery, spicy, light green vegetable almost hefeweizen like finish. Light on the flavour scale, but totally solid. This would be a great summer session ale.
