Commercial Description:
We take our time gently crafting Conferation Ale in our waterfront brewery using good old-fashioned care and the finest ingredients: seven select grains of malted barley, specialty hops, premium yeast, and the purest water from our natural spring. Our long-aged rich golden ale pours with a thich rocky croawn revealing a subtle hint of malty sweetness and an elegant hop finish.

Draught @ Winking Judge, Hamilton
Light copper colour. Slightly earthy, herbal aroma - light, toasty, slightly fruity. Light body. Slight toastiness, hint of earthiness. Functional but unspectacular.

mds gave me a can because he hates me. The Brewmaster’s Thermometer on the side of the can will turn blue when ready to serve. That’s how I knew when I should open this can. Then I served it. Amazing clarity, I don’t know how they get beer so clear. Could be apple juice sitting in the glass for all I know, clear apple juice, that is. Actually smells like apple juice though. Now I wonder if the Brewmaster’s Thermometer was really blue or just pale blue. If this were a cider I might actually think the aroma is decent, but it’s a beer, and it’s not an apple beer. Just carbonated enough to not be considered flat. Tastes like air up front, with a small fizz of apples on the back. I can imagine drinking this at sixteen, when all you cared about was what you could sneak out of the house, and even though it tasted terrible you told yourself you liked it because it had alcohol in it, and guys are supposed to like beer.

Any first impressions?
-A foam cap recedes to a ring onto the clear, pale golden, drawing some silky lacing.
-Bready pils malt graininess and butterscotch sweetness form an uninspiring aroma.
-Caramel, grain and plenty of water make a bland, boring flavor spectrum.
-Has a slick, bulky body for a macro replacement.

What if you dig deeper?
-Oh nice, they suggest us to drink it from 3 to 5 degrees Celsius. It must be better when it’s "cold-tasting".
-Grainy dryness and ghostly hops wade in the aqueous finish.
-Some skunk initially escaped the bottle neck, but thankfully left swiftly.
-This obviously caters to macro lovers with no guts to try anything new but a different name on a package they already recognize.

Bottle; no date notched on the neck label.

Initial grassy hop nose is quickly overwhelmed by creamed corn DMS in the nose. Clear golden body is topped by a fizzy, low white head that recedes instantly to partial cover and ring. Sweetness and grainy malts battle against the strong corn flavour with some herbal hops as innocent bystanders. Watery texture with initially strong carbonation that does not last at all. DMS becomes much stronger as it warms. At traditional ale temperatures, this would fair less well. Obviously aimed at the macro-crowd. Lager glass. Just above fridge temperature. Bottle (gift, Feb-06). Thanks, aerosol999!

Thanks pintbypint. Poured a bright gold with a large white head. The aroma is ginger and some carrots. Also a nice bready note. The taste is sweet celery and some walnuts. There are also some hints of light black pepper. Really, fairly nicely made.
