I actually thought this showed nice complexity. Pale amber colour with a pink tint and a large pinkish-hued head. Black cherry sweetness and aroma, light spice and a hint of almond. Flavour was fairly sweet, but not cloying with a long cherry finish.

2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Pours amberish colour, with no head. Aroma is not bad, hint of fruit. Flavour is medicinal, with herbal notes. Sucretes was used by others to describe it. Seems to have missed the mark.

Orangey, smallish white head, some bubbles. Light aroma, some cherry. Candy like, sugar dipped fruit with artificial aftertaste.

0.9 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 3/20
UPDATED: AUG 24, 2005 Draught. At Smokeless Joe. This isn’t beer, it’s *medicine* Cloyingly sweet but tart too - cough syrup is EXACTLY what it smells and tastes like. Okay reddish pour, but just look at it, don’t drink. I heard the brewery went under recently - my theory is they’re being punished for inflicting this beer on me. Or not.

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Malt aroma, copper, with a small off-white head. Medicinal flavour, like Smith Brothers cherry cough drops. Thin, fruity, bitter finish. It sounded more promising.

On tap, C’est What. I quite liked this beer. Red body (of course!), lovely cherry aroma. Mouthfeel is smooth, although a bit thin - silky. Taste is all cherry, but I found a good malt balance to it - this exceeded any of the fruit beers I tried in the recent LCBO summer release. Very little aftertaste. Overall, while I don’t love fruit beers, nor do I dislike them, I really enjoyed this pint. A nice surprise.

1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Reddish-orange colour with tiny head. Aroma of sour cherry and Unibroue-ish yeast. Flavour is intially fruity, quickly turning sour/bitter and medicinal, like a yeasty cough syrup. It's also got some serious alcohol burn, making me doubt the claim of it being 4.5%.

Well, it looked pretty good with a beautiful cherry colour but it was all downhill from there. Aroma is dominated by cherries, so is the flavour. Steve got it right when he said it was all Cherry Halls. Very sweet and the 4oz sample that I had was almost to much for me.

On tap at Cest what with Dougshoemaker and JadoreBlanche. Appears to have a copper red body, with a creamy white head. Aroma is black cherries, suugary, like cough syrup. Taste is sweet and sour cherries, like robitussin. Watery, fizzy.

2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Clear orange. Thin white head. Light, somewhat yeasty black cherry & alcohol aroma. Thin, syrupy feel. Yeasty, medicinal (cough syrup) cherry flavour. Unbalanced & cloying.
