Bottled. A nice ale. Not bad but not extraordinary either. This is my probably 27th english ale. I had many by hook norton and williams bros. some typical english ale were good, some not. This one os no different. Overall refreshing and drinkable.

50cl bottle from Morrisons. Pale amber with moderate carbonation and a billowing cream head; clean citrus aroma; reather muddy in the mouth though with a sweet grainy body; before a dry finish. An acceptable summer beer.

UPDATED: AUG 2, 2013 Bottled 22/06/13. A golden beer with a whitish head and lace. A bit fusty farty in the nose with obvious pasteurized notes. A hint of lemony hopping in the mouth but again the cardboardy notes kill the flavours. Score 2.5

500ml bottle. Pours gold with a medium head. Aroma is zesty lemon with some biscuit and a touch of soap. Taste has light citrus to start and a gassy straw malt finish.

Nose is herbal and honey which fades quickly. Taste is light, cereal slight caramel and pronounced herbal. Finish is a tacky, bitter lemon with slight metallic note. Itís a passable session beer with a poor finish. The school boy name and bottle design is obnoxious.

(Bottle): Pours a clear pale gold with a medium white head that lasts. Lots of hops, citrus and fruits in the aroma. Hoppy taste with a sweet, fruity base. Mouthfeel is silky but lively carbonation on the tongue. Lovely, refreshing, drinkable beer.

Bottle. Blonde and very clear.Lovely hoppy flavour with some citrus thrown in. Plenty of body considering its relatively low strength. Far better than I anticipated.

A very light ale with hints of flowers and lemon. Almost like a lager with flavour. Not one Iíd get excitede about but it does go down easily.

500ml bottle: best before the end of Oct 2013, poured into an íOld Speckled Hení pint vase on 16 Mar 2013. It looked fine: light amber, almost lager-like in its clarity, on top a smooth head of white foam. Rising carbonisation bubbles could clearly be seen throughout the tasting and the head left some lacing as the beer level sank. Hops rule the nose: citrusy and spicy, floral notes too. The taste is a little to lemony/citrusy for me, with slight biscuity/toffee flavours: a lemon tart feel to the brew maybe. Refreshing but not my sort of thing. Body depth is Ok for a 3.8% brew and it is easy to drink, but Iím a malts man and this doesnít do it for me. Iíve complained and bleeted about citrusy golden brews in the UK for a couple of years now: this one is towards the upper end of my liking, the semi-sweet undertones have saved it from a crappy score.

500ml brown bottle from Morrisons. Largerish beer. Dryish. Caramel and vanilla. Some soapy lemony hops that donít sit well with the malt. Not great, but drinkable.
