3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: FEB 7, 2013 Cask at the Salisbury Arms, Cambridge. Pours clear amber-red with a tight, lasting beige cream head. Toasty-bready malt nose, some ripe berries, plums, faint caramel. Light sweet flavor with dry, toasted brown bread, some semi-ripe berries. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Light finish, some well ripe citrus, doughy brown bread, drying berries. Very simple beer. Easy-drinking stuff, but simple.

Half pint, cask at Castle Hotel. Good looking with its deep, golden-brown coloured body. Tiny layer at the top leaving carpeted lacing behind. Firm aroma of leafy hops and mid-sweet malts. Malt-fruity taste profile with resin and caramel. Satisfying bitterness to the finish. Well balanced. A good bitter that fits the season (Manchester, 21.01.2013).

Easy to drink. Inoffensive. Slips down easily. Very mild flavour. Great for an easy session.
