Cask, Star & Garter, Wigston. Amber with a form off-white head. Aromas are pear and blackberry with biscuit and dusty yeast. Trace banana with cream and mellow lemon. Flavours are caamel and lemon with dry tea and a cloying, nasty sweetness. Quite poor.

A Mes rate:
Cask at The Volunteer. A fairly tedious offering from Robinsons, as most of theirs are if I am honest. Mainly malts and just very mellow all round. A tad on the watery side. Boo.

Amber-gold with a small white head. No discernable aroma. Malty taste followed by a very thin, watery second half with hardly any bitterness. Rating 1,4,4,3,11: 2.3.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Mungo (2472) - Southampton, Hampshire, ENGLAND - MAR 15, 2006
Cask conditioned @ Humble Plumb, Soton. Doughy yeast and floral hop aromas with caramel. Very pleasant and slightly unusual fruity tea (like a cold darjeeling or ceylon) flavours. Gentle bitter finish to balance the fruity sweetness. Tasty.

Medway Beer Festival. A tired session bitter offering up a dry appleness, but nothing genuinely flavoursome or gulpable.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Hbie (133) - Essex, ENGLAND - JUL 8, 2005
Cask. In good condition, light brown with white head. A good session beer quite full bodied for its strength, a fair amount of flavour a few more hops would not go amiss. I prefer this to the Best Bitter which I find too sweet.
