UPDATED: JAN 27, 2015 I quite enjoyed this. Wonderful malty minerally flavor. Some boozy warmth. However it was a bit too drinkable. Serving: Bottle

Very good and tricky beer. Alcohol not sensible almost. Very good appearance, roasty fruity aroma and taste, medium body. Balanced brew. I drink it from the bottle and the carbonation is high for ale. But it gaines drinkability.

An easy drinking stoutish beer or a strong ale. Pours very dark brown with a frothy head that dissipates quite quickly. Aroma of caramel and burnt barley. Taste is medium sweet with medium bitterness. Light lingering bitter finish. Enjoyable.

Deep brown colour with compact light brown head. Aroma of roasted malts, caramel, oak and dark roasted chocolate. Taste is the same with little presence of alcohol. Finish is slightly bitter. Very nice beer to drink.

Not bad at all. Usual suspects for this type of English ale: roasted malt, dark raisiny fruit, ripe plums in the middle and slightly tart green plums at the edges. Alcohol generally well hidden except for a nice warming at the back.

Brown with a small beige head. Aroma is earthy, chocolate, caramel, bread, sugar, grassy, some floral notes. Taste is chocolate, toffee, raisins, black olives, earthy bitterness, some nice light alcohol presence. Bitter aftertaste.

Bottle from SuperAlko in Tallinn (€ 2.45). BB Jun 2015. Pours a clear chestnutty colour. Head’s big when poured vigorously, light beige in colour, retains nicely, yet the lacing is rather poor. It’s got a dark fruit plus caramel character both on the nose and in taste, with a tingle of alcohol detectable. Perhaps nuts and figs too. Very faint bitterness. Slightly metallic in the finish. Body medium, palate soft and smooth. I feel some nice alcoholic warmth in the throat. At first the beer seemed quite carbonated but that flattened very fast. Overall? Pretty straightforward this is, with little depth in my opinion - I really can’t get much of it…

Home. Dunkelbraun, leicht durchscheinend. Sehr feines Bier.

30.6.2014. Smells like some dark strong belgian ales: sweet malts, raisin, dark fruits. Taste is not quite there but ok. Dark fruits, malts, some sweetness, slight warmth. Could be fuller, leaves slightly light feeling with alcoholic taste. Wanted to like more but sth in taste doesnt match.

Dark brown with a ruby hue, medium tan head with nice lacing. Aroma is caramel, some chocolate maltiness, strong on the fruit and some alcohol. Taste medium sweet malt and strong caramel, some chocolate, fruit and dark fruits which linger in the aftertaste, alcohol again. Medium+ bodied, slightly sticky.
