I quite enjoyed this. Wonderful malty minerally flavor. Some boozy warmth. However it was a bit too drinkable. Serving: Bottle

Clear but dark brown cherry red with a nice top. The smell is sweet with some hops aswell but it isn’t fruity sweet. More like sugar coated almonds sweet when in mouth. Alcohol is present with no problems. And ofcourse, its bitter, as can be expected. Slightly similar to Chimay blue.

(Bottle, 0.33 l - BBE May 14, from Alko, 20130524) The beer poured dark brown and clear. Its head was medium sized, long lasting and lightly brown. Aroma had molasses, sweetness and roasted malts. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were caramell, mildlty roasted malts, chocolate, molasses, sweetness and bitterness. Aftertaste was malty and bitter. A tasty beer with some harshness without which the beer would have been better.

Appearance: opaque maroonish caramel; soft, soapy and minimal white collar of a head. Aroma: molasses, ketchup, brown bread. Taste: caramel, raisins, plums, bourbon, vegemite, and soy sauce. Finish: slick and a bit bitter, with lingering boozy warmth and caramel malts. Notes: I frankly don’t see what all the fuss is about. Palate was flat and lifeless, the alcohol was not well-hidden, and the salty and vegetal notes detracted significantly from the flavor profile. Drain pour.

Bottle. Sweet boozy aroma. Flavour is heavy sweetness with berry fruitness plus a huge dose of uncultured alcohol.

330ml Bottle from Asda Supermarket:
Fruity, sweet malts and a lot of alcohol on the nose with some darker, strong fruits and berries coming through. There was also a touch of caramel and some rich fruits with sugar. Pleasant but perhaps the alcohol could have been hidden slightly better.
Chestnut brown with a few red tinges and a tiny, white to tan lace on top that turns patchy fairly quickly.
Sweet with some alcohol but not as much as with the smell, there is however the same, strong fruit and richness. I could detect some plums and a few other darker fruits with some caramel and toffee coming through as well as some cherries.
Smooth and a little spicy but with a lot of alcohol that had a negative impact on my opinion of the beer. The taste was sweet and boozy and the mouthfeel was medium to full bodied.

An average beer if truth be told, I did enjoy it but they alcohol was a little strong and although pleasant the sweetness and fruity flavours did little to mask it. The beer is a strong and boozy one that leaves you with a warming alcohol taste to it and it was easy enough to drink despite the alcohol.

Barva: černá, pěna hustá, vysoká, držící. Vůně: nádherná kávová. Chuť. silné, plné pivo s fantastickou kávovou chutí, středním řízem a výraznou hořkostí. Skvělé silné pivo s kávovou chutí a lehkým citrusovým nádechem.

Bottle, deep brown with a clingy off-beige head and aromas of earth and old wine barrel, plus hint of demerara and leather. Palate is oaky and musty, turning sweeter with some dried dark fruit coming through plus hints of brandy and a dry earthy bitterness that lasts into the aftertaste.
