Bottle, from somewhere. Got it for Christmas, not too sure where it came from. A shop, presumably. Pours a deep, murky brown-red, finger of head. Aroma is raisins, dark malts, a little banana, some spice and perfume. Taste is coffee, nutty (esp walnuts), brown sugar, maltiness, dark fruits, a little tart, quite bitter. A lot more interesting than I was expecting. Medium-full bodied, medium-long finish. A lot less sweet than I’d expected, and with a lot more character and complexity. A really, really nice surprise!

Dark. Aroma of grapes, burnt caramel with a faint whiff of burning alcohol. Nice. Tastes of sweet caramel and bitter coffee. Unfortunately the alcohol shines through on the tongue. Good, not great.

Undoubtedly a winter warmer, this beer would be perfect to enjoy whilst reading a book on a dark, cold, blustery evening in winter. Strong liquorice tastes and not conspicuously boozy.

Pours very dark ruby, almost black body with frothy, medium sized off-white head. Nice lacing on the glass. Smell is rich, dark fruits, berries, chocolate and caramel. This is going to be good. Medium body, softly carbonated. Texture is smooth and oily. Overall taste is moderately bitter. Aroma of caramel, licorice, toffee, forest fruits, chocolate, liquor. Slightly roasted. Rich and complex. Lovely alcohol burn on the tongue, giving the beer a bit boozy and bitter mouthfeel. Long finish. Overall, excellent brew. Smooth and delicious.

Beige bumpy head with orange notes, dark mahogany reddish body. Aroma; leaves, hops, dark malts, malted candies, dusty. Taste; dark malts, roasted malts, whiskeyish notes, grass - leading to a malt-fruity semi-dry finish. Good on palate. Premium sipper. [33cl.special.btl, abv8.5%, BB.AUG17]

0,33 bottle at home. - Powerful chocolate and dark fruits, burnt bread and sweet nuts on the aroma. The flavor is very nutty with a slight flavor of wort and vanilla. The burning alcohol-flavor drags it down, though.

Dark brown. Sweet aromas, caramel, dried fruits, raisins. Caramel tasting, sweet, dried fruits and alcohol that also is present during the finish. Too sweet.
