Botlle from Ambrosetti, Berlin, Germany. Very dark with orange tint. Aroma of black berries, chocolate malt and some alcohol. Slightly sour, wine-like, fruity, spicey, very tasty. Lively mouthfeel, full body. The best ale I’ve tasted so far.

Weird one, but after a few sips gets quite good. Lovely malt background, caramel with quite intense fruitiness, berries, bit acetone, weird mix of coffee tobacco. Light sweetness wit some sourness and decent bitterness. Feels bit unbalanced, but its enjoyable anyways

Dark red brown with a decent head. Toffee and medium malts on the nose. Rich and pleasant but not very complex malty flavor. Way better than Chocolate Old Tom.

Bottle. Aroma of caramel, chocolate, prunes. Medium sweet at beginning followed by bitterness which is not overhelming malty sweetness. Bitterness comes also from roasted malts. Medium body, oily texture, moderate carbonation. Alcohol is warming, but well hiden. Very nice well balanced beer.

DuffMan (6745) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - SEP 15, 2014
Bottle. Dark brown, amber highlights, finely bubbled beige head. Sweet raisin pie aroma, boozy undertones. Sweet raisins/prunes, heavy tea-like tannins, woody earthiness, pithy aspirin bitterness, warming alcohol in the finish. Very nice, but Samuel Smith does a better old ale with their Yorkshire Stingo.

czar (4371) - Québec, Quebec, CANADA - SEP 12, 2014
pours hazy light Brown orange with a small light beige head, some retention and lacing. earthy molasses, roasted chocolate, some toasted caramel/toffee, dried fruits - mostly raisins but also some dried cranberries, spicy and earthy goldings, tea leaves, grass, pepper. light carbonation, medium body - oily and almost syrupy yet never sweet, woodsy almost tannic-grassy-spicy-gently earthy finish. good for what it is, i guess. quite unique too.

blackisle (704) - IJburg, NETHERLANDS - SEP 7, 2014
Bottle 33cl. Clear dark red brown color, one finger creamy tan head, recedes quickly; aroma roasty malts, dried fruits, licorice, chocolate, brown sugar, hint of alcohol; taste moderate sweet, moderate bitter, roasty, creamy, toffee, dark fruit; full-bodied, creamy texture, bit peppery on the tongue, soft carbonation; mild dry bitter finish, woody notes. A complex and well-balanced strong ale. Excellent.

---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Stout4stout (13) - neath, WALES - SEP 1, 2014
Strong, treacly, winey ale with hints of liquorice and plum. Not one you could drink all night due to the strength. A very nice treat on a cold winters night, (especially if sat next to a crackling log fire). A unique treasure amongst beers.

Bottle; pours dark brown with a tan head; has a sweet malt aroma with some toffee and dark fruits; taste is sweet with caramel, some malt, and dark fruits; finish dry with a light bitter chocolate aftertaste; pretty good one
