4.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Botlle from Ambrosetti, Berlin, Germany. Very dark with orange tint. Aroma of black berries, chocolate malt and some alcohol. Slightly sour, wine-like, fruity, spicey, very tasty. Lively mouthfeel, full body. The best ale I’ve tasted so far.

A brilliantly smooth dark ale. Hits you with caramel and honey with a oats / malt finish that lingers!

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Looks like a porter but has a more sweet finish to it than you’d expect. A definite hint of caramel/chocolate gives this some character. Pours as black as the night with an off white head. Watch out though at 8.5% this packs a real punch!

Bottle 330ml @ home
Pours clear dark amber with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, vinous, dried fruits, hint of yeast, caramel and hint of chocolate and alcohol. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter with a long yeasty, malty, slightly warm and grassy finish. Body is medium to full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Fľaša. Tmavo hnedá, až čierna farba. Nahnedlá pena, rýchlo padla. Vôňa sladká, pražené slady, ľahko karamel, hrozienka. V chuti sladkosť na úvod, karamel, hrozienka, pikantnosť - koriander? Telo stredne plné, ľahká nasýtenosť. Veľmi piteľné.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Dark brown, no lasting head. Medium body, low carbonation. Boozy, malty nose with dried fruit. Dark chocolate, cherries and prunes in the taste. Lasting bitter finish. A great English ale.

2.3 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pours dark brown with no head. The smell is nothing special and is strongly yeasty. Taste is very full at first bit then a sour aftertaste kicks in, that ruins the beer for a second there. The good thing is the aftertaste quickly diminishes and you can enjoy the rest of the beer. Cheers

3.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Very dark brown/orange-red. 1/4 finger off white head.
Alcohol on the nose like a strong spirit. Fruit, rich red berries. Sweet molasses.
Sweet, rich malt at first like a rich fruit cake with syrup. Bitterness at the end with hint of spice/pepper notes.
Full bodied, rich and unctuous. Warming. Taste is up front but not long lasting in the mouth. Long lasting taste is sweet and of molasses with the hint of spice mentioned earlier.
Lovely. Well balanced, rich and delicious. Not overpowering in flavour, definitely one to savour. Strong, so probably best have one only but well worth a go.
