COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle: Pasteurised.
Originally labelled as Chocolate Tom. Label was changed to read Old Tom With Chocolate circa 2011.
Old Tom with chocolate is an indulgent rich combination of Robinsons’ award winning Old Tom and the finest cocoa. It is a superior full bodied strong ale filled with the flavour of ripe malt and velvety smooth chocolate teased together with an inspired touch of Madagascan bourbon vanilla.
Chocolate Tom is a deliciously indulgent addition to the Old Tom range, with a recipe developed by Robinsons and the renowned chocolatier Simon Dunn.
With a distinctive ’natural’ milky sweet chocolate palate balanced by underlying hop and roasted malt characters, Chocolate Tom is a superior, rich and warming speciality beer with a dark mahogany colour.

Atlanta, Ga. - Tower Beer and Wine - 11.2 oz bottle. Hazy light amber brown pour, sticky, off-white head. Aroma has some odd soapy accents, a touch of prunes and molasses. Soapy essence permeates the flavor as well. Some chocolate makes it way through - but it is odd and tart. Some molasses and dates in the back end. Mouthfeel is off. Not a memorable drinking experience.

Castle Hotel, Manchester 21 Jan 13. Flaske 0,33l delt med Rune. Amber. Litt uklar. Lavt skum med litt lacing. Kjempegod sjokoladearoma. Smaken er melkesjokolade. Lite annet - men god.

Bottle. Head is initially average sized, frothy, off-white to light brown, mostly lasting. Body is dark amber. Aroma is moderately malty (cookie, caramel, cocoa powder), lightly to moderately hoppy (apricot), with notes of vanilla, toffee, gum, raisin. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation, lightly alcoholic. Kinda strange, really...a somewhat clashing mix of characters, none of which are unpleasant by themselves but are not complementary (esp. the cocoa powder). Thankfully not a goopy, chocolatey mess as I feared it might be in the mouth, but still not very fulfilling. Very much a novelty beer.

Flavours of malts, some bitters, different malts, some chocolate, some herbs, light coffee ish tone, some milk chocolate and some light herbal toast. Aftertaste is bitter, malty and chocolate. Low carbo, light watery mouthfeel, medium bodied and a light watery texture. Easy drinkable, not as much chocolate as in the flavour.

in bottiglia. Colore mogano con schiuma poco persistente. Aroma di cioccolato, vaniglia, legno. Tutto di media intensità. Al palato cereale, vaniglia poi retrogusto amaro di cioccolato. Birra bilanciata e ben fatta. Godibile

Pretty bad. I rarely have to say negative about beers but this one is quite bad. There is a milk chocolatey flavour strongly present on top of a malty and crispy ale.. not good.

Klar, mørk gylden. Lille off-white skum. Aroma: mælkechokolade og vanille. Ditto smag suppleret med malt og en smule bitterhed. Kort, tør eftersmag, medium fylde.
