Originally labelled as Chocolate Tom. Label was changed to read Old Tom With Chocolate circa 2011.
Old Tom with chocolate is an indulgent rich combination of Robinsons’ award winning Old Tom and the finest cocoa. It is a superior full bodied strong ale filled with the flavour of ripe malt and velvety smooth chocolate teased together with an inspired touch of Madagascan bourbon vanilla.
Chocolate Tom is a deliciously indulgent addition to the Old Tom range, with a recipe developed by Robinsons and the renowned chocolatier Simon Dunn.
With a distinctive ’natural’ milky sweet chocolate palate balanced by underlying hop and roasted malt characters, Chocolate Tom is a superior, rich and warming speciality beer with a dark mahogany colour.

Noticeable chocolate in both aroma and taste, covers the alcohol well, drinkable and the missus loves it but I am not so sure.

Bottle 330 ml from Bier-Bienne (CH). Mahogany and luminous beer, with beige foam sticking to the glass. Aromas of cocoa, vanilla, nuts. The taste is totanny dominated by chocolate (Milky) and vanilla. There is a slippery touch of cocoa butter. Mild malt with a hint of metallic bitterness. No bad but one-dimensional.

Bottle at home. Clear dark brown to amber pour, solid off-white head. Aroma is sweet with red fruits, caramel, cacao and spices. Flavor is full of cacao, quite sweet and a bit off-balance. Slightly bitter in the finish. Watery texture.

Cream coloured, small head over amber-copper coloured beer. Rather malty nose, parsley, bit perfumey; very faint cocao warming up, smelling like Ovomaltine. Bitter chocolate, almonds and other nuts. Praliné-vanilla filled chocolate bar, with an outspoken bitter finish. Very nice, flavourfull palate, rectifying the beers initial low profile. IMO, it ought to be more of a flavourbomb. A tad more alcohol (and fusels...) might have helped no end. Found in a Münchner supermarket, of all places...

Bottle from Pivonka. Stonger beer with mild chocolate palate, not bad, nice smell.

can’t remember from where I got it ... - clear and dark reddish-brown beer under a solid and long lasting creamy beige foam; nice lacework; a solid aroma of cocoa; medium-bodied and with some sweetness; finishes gently tart with some chocolatey and earthy tones

Pours chestnut with small head. Dry chocolate aroma. Medium chocolatey mouthfeel with some bitterness and chocolate aftertaste. Kind of weird, but not outright bad.

Aroma of milk chocolate and vanilla. Almost red. Tastes artificial. Perhaps a bad bottle.
