Originally labelled as Chocolate Tom. Label was changed to read Old Tom With Chocolate circa 2011.
Old Tom with chocolate is an indulgent rich combination of Robinsons’ award winning Old Tom and the finest cocoa. It is a superior full bodied strong ale filled with the flavour of ripe malt and velvety smooth chocolate teased together with an inspired touch of Madagascan bourbon vanilla.
Chocolate Tom is a deliciously indulgent addition to the Old Tom range, with a recipe developed by Robinsons and the renowned chocolatier Simon Dunn.
With a distinctive ’natural’ milky sweet chocolate palate balanced by underlying hop and roasted malt characters, Chocolate Tom is a superior, rich and warming speciality beer with a dark mahogany colour.

Bottle 0,5ltr: Another brew with my favorite one-eyed brewery cat on it. The dark brown coloured chocolate version. I like this one, not so extreme of taste like other chocolate beers. Its got the sweet bitternesh due the fine chocolate they used.

33cl bottle, dark amber/brownish color, lasting creamy beige head, roasted malt aroma with chocolate (not so "real") and vanilla notes, moderately sweet flavor, medium body, finish with some hops notes, vanilla hints aftertaste, I was expecting a more genuine chocolate taste

Roast malts and chocolate flavour, but not overpowering, this is a slightly lighter colour than regular old tom

Bottle. Pours a dark brown colour with a thin white head. Plenty of chocolate with a hint of vanilla in the aroma. The taste is soft with cocoa also with vanilla and fruit, and with a dry finish.

Bottle bought at Morrisons in Norwich. A brown/copper coloured pour with a healthy white head on top. Aroma of milk chocolate and dark fruit. Tastes of milk chocolate, dark fruit, malt, vanilla. Quite an interesting beer this one, it seems to be a chocolate beer but also it leans towards a run of the mill English bitter. Quite drinkable though.

(bottled) Its basically the usuall Old tom with handfulls of generic chocolate sprinkled over it. How magical.

rating the 33 cL bottle despite the label. A lovely dark amber/brown colour with a cornetto head. Smells chocolately, a bit of hobnob, slight alcohol. Palate is a bit too milky and chocolately for a beer. Nice as chocolate biscuit beer, but otherwise, its bit too sweet and fanciful. Pleasant chcolate ale, but its a little shallow.

Bottle. The strength of the Old Tom holds up pretty well against the cocoa, with cocoa and a touch of alcohol on the nose, warming malt, vanilla and alcohol on the tongue first, then the cocoa comes through again, before a dry bitter and cocoa finish with a hint of vanilla again. Did I mention the cocoa yet?
