Originally labelled as Chocolate Tom. Label was changed to read Old Tom With Chocolate circa 2011.
Old Tom with chocolate is an indulgent rich combination of Robinsons’ award winning Old Tom and the finest cocoa. It is a superior full bodied strong ale filled with the flavour of ripe malt and velvety smooth chocolate teased together with an inspired touch of Madagascan bourbon vanilla.
Chocolate Tom is a deliciously indulgent addition to the Old Tom range, with a recipe developed by Robinsons and the renowned chocolatier Simon Dunn.
With a distinctive ’natural’ milky sweet chocolate palate balanced by underlying hop and roasted malt characters, Chocolate Tom is a superior, rich and warming speciality beer with a dark mahogany colour.

dark amber colour, medium sized creamy beige-ish head, which collapses quickly; aroma of floral hops, some chocolate, caramel and maybe some fruity notes; taste of floral hops and malty sweetness with minimal chocolate - I expected much more

Bottle 330ml @ home
Pours clear amber/brown with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, chocolate, dried fruits and floral. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter with a long cheap milk chocolate and fruity finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Botella de 300ml con silueta “old fashioned”. Copa Globo. Leves notas avinadas y chocolate fundido al destapar. Brota con color caoba y apariencia nublada. Espuma beige, corona tupida y buena retención. Trago agradable. 330ml old shape bottle. Snifter glass. Slight winey & fudge chocolate aromas as cap is removed. Pours mahogany in color, cloudy appearance. Beige foam, close crown, nice retention. Roasted, herbal, brown sugar, chocolate & toffee aromas. Crispy upfront, roasted & black cocoa flavors. Medium body. Moderately high carbonation. Oily to watery texture. Slight licorice hints & herbal notes resolves in a long bitter/sweet finish. Chocolate tones on the aftertaste. Smooth drinkability.

330 ml bottle with an undeceipherable code stamped on the neck. Served in a snifter after some warming. Clear red-brown body with a somewhat weak heak but nice lacing. Unusual and dynamic flavor profile. Sweet toffee dominates up front but cocoa comes out on top in the finish and lingers on in the mildly bitter aftertaste. Feel: full body with medium carbonation.

10/11 A 0.33 l bottle from Vrutak store, Zagreb. It poured brown body with medium sized head. Fine, although weak aroma of cocoa and dark chocolate. Lightly sweet flavor, dark chocolate malt driven, simple yet effective. A drawback was absence of wood cask notes. Medium body, creamy on palate with sweetish chocolate and caramel finish, touched with little bit of herbal hops. Or just some spices? Anyhow, a really fine beer.

Almost disgusting. Red/brown colour with no head. Aroma is mostly chocolate syrup with some malt in the background. But not the pleasant chocolate smell of an average brown ale or stout, just over-sweet and monotonous. Taste is also ridiculously sweet and unpleasant, with an absolutely watery body. It has a slighty bitter finish, which kind of corrects the rest. But after that I just don’t want to drink more. Not recommended.
