COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle: Pasteurised.
Originally labelled as Chocolate Tom. Label was changed to read Old Tom With Chocolate circa 2011.
Old Tom with chocolate is an indulgent rich combination of Robinsons’ award winning Old Tom and the finest cocoa. It is a superior full bodied strong ale filled with the flavour of ripe malt and velvety smooth chocolate teased together with an inspired touch of Madagascan bourbon vanilla.
Chocolate Tom is a deliciously indulgent addition to the Old Tom range, with a recipe developed by Robinsons and the renowned chocolatier Simon Dunn.
With a distinctive ’natural’ milky sweet chocolate palate balanced by underlying hop and roasted malt characters, Chocolate Tom is a superior, rich and warming speciality beer with a dark mahogany colour.

Medium dark amber brown with a fizzy light lace lasting white thin head. Smells of chcoclate, coco, licorish, roasted malt and brown sugar. Medium to thin light body with soft carbonation. The carbonation is a little chemically but overall quite nice. Tastes of milk chocolate, licorish, and a bitter ashy peppery. Enjoyable. and easy to drink. The finish is a bit tart like I liked envelopes for too long.

Bottle from kegs & barrels plano, tx. Pours a rich mahagony with a thin off white head. The mouthfeel is slightly sweet and sticky with a medium to heavy body and good carbonation. There was some great chocolate notes in the flavor but seemed to lack something. Cheers!

100513. Bottle at home. Pours dark ruby with a nice head. Aroma chocolate, caramel. Chocolate and lots of it. You can almost feel the cocoa sand. Not much unlike Youngs Double Chocolate. Medium full bodied. Not Bad.

330ml bottle. Deep mahogany brown body with decent off white head and lace. I get prominent milk chocolate with roasted malts and subtle oranges on the nose. Palate is silky smooth with bittersweet flavours and a nice dry finish. Medium body with lowish carbonation. A nice drop - not too rich and filling like a dessert stout.

Share with the wife. She gave her glass to me. Sickly and cloying like Barnaby Bear.

Foam disappear really fast, bronze color, smell like candied fruit in brandy but not in a happy way !! Taste and palate is the same. Can smell something close to chocolate when it’s warmup, but not even close to it. Make me thing of a basic Malt Beverage then a finish Ale.

Clear amber color with decent light brown foam head. Aroma is Bayleys, definately. Taste is bit strange, it tries to be sweet but it doesn’t manage, it tries to be chocolate, but it doesn’t manage. Aftertaste same, no one taste prevails. (Moscow 201304)

Bottle. Dark amber with a beige head that’s soon a coat. Aroma is pruney with vanilla and chocolate. An unpleasant wet cardboard note is there at first, but pretty much clears off in short order. Thin body, low carbonation. Sweetish with dried fruits, sherry, a little pretty crappy chocolate, vanilla. Dryish finish with moderate bitterness. Poor.

Bottle pours clear yet opaque amber brown with small creamy light tan head and some speckled lace. Aromas of sweet malts and cocoa, doughy yeast esters and floral hops. Medium light chewy body, chocolate being apparent but balanced with the nutty base and deep caramel malt complexity. Finishes clean lightly hoppy with the hints of cocoa and malt body lingering semi sweet
