Originally labelled as Chocolate Tom. Label was changed to read Old Tom With Chocolate circa 2011.
Old Tom with chocolate is an indulgent rich combination of Robinsons’ award winning Old Tom and the finest cocoa. It is a superior full bodied strong ale filled with the flavour of ripe malt and velvety smooth chocolate teased together with an inspired touch of Madagascan bourbon vanilla.
Chocolate Tom is a deliciously indulgent addition to the Old Tom range, with a recipe developed by Robinsons and the renowned chocolatier Simon Dunn.
With a distinctive ’natural’ milky sweet chocolate palate balanced by underlying hop and roasted malt characters, Chocolate Tom is a superior, rich and warming speciality beer with a dark mahogany colour.

330ml bottle. Pours a deep mahogany amber, with a beige head. Malty, vinous aroma, chocolate, caramel, orange, hops, toffee, Earth, dark cherries (!), marizpan. Off-dry, medium bodied, mid bitterness, balanced CO2. Malty, spicy taste, caramel, chocolate, marzipan, nuts, citrus, hintys of hops. Suprisingly light, with regards to the base beer. Quite disappointing. (2015-11-05)

Caramellige Nase mit feinen Haselnuss- und Schokoladennoten. Schokoladig im Mund ohne grosse geschmackliche Überraschungen. Gutes Schoko-bier aber nichts überragendes.

Aromat: nuty chlebowe, opiekane, karmelowe, czerwone owoce, odrobinę czekolady, ale nieco sztucznej oraz alkohol. Jakoś mnie to nie rusza.

Wygląd: barwa głęboko miedziana, do czerwonej, klarowna. Piana jasno beżowa, drobno pęcherzykowa, umiarkowanie obfita i podobnie trwała. ładnie oblepia szkło.

Smak zdecydowana kwaskowość, z jedynie lekką słodyczą. Na pierwszym miejscu czekolada, ale nieco sztuczna. Karmel, chleb, melanoidyny i lekka nuta alkoholowa. Goryczka niewielka, delikatna i krótka. Średnia pełnia, umiarkowane do wysokiego wysycenie i kwaskowo- czekoladowy finisz.

Mahogany brown with a great medium beige head, but is marred by tons of visible floaties. Lovely nose of chocolate and gentle hazlenuttiness and a kiss of roastiness. The flavor is surprisingly light in body, but has that expected hazelnutty cocoa tone from the nose. Honestly thats about it besides a slightly boozy kiss at the end. Pretty straightforward and lighter than it ought to be.

33cl bottle. Poured copper with a thick white head. Lots of chocolate in aroma, butterscotch. Flavor has butterscotch, mild woody notes and truckload of chocolate. Mild coffee in finish. Quite nice, simple.
