COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle: Pasteurised.
Originally labelled as Chocolate Tom. Label was changed to read Old Tom With Chocolate circa 2011.
Old Tom with chocolate is an indulgent rich combination of Robinsons’ award winning Old Tom and the finest cocoa. It is a superior full bodied strong ale filled with the flavour of ripe malt and velvety smooth chocolate teased together with an inspired touch of Madagascan bourbon vanilla.
Chocolate Tom is a deliciously indulgent addition to the Old Tom range, with a recipe developed by Robinsons and the renowned chocolatier Simon Dunn.
With a distinctive ’natural’ milky sweet chocolate palate balanced by underlying hop and roasted malt characters, Chocolate Tom is a superior, rich and warming speciality beer with a dark mahogany colour.

Muy extraña, con un toque de chocolate que se nota pero no desagrada en absoluto.

Bottle from King&Godfree. Great stout. Aromas of chocolate, hints of cereal. Taste is sweet, with light bitterness, and long length. Palate is velvety, and medium bodied. Brown, with a frothy head.

Usually I’m apathetic to chocolate and other sweets, and I tried this one just because of the sales. But hell, it’s good! It’s not sweet, it’s not oversatrated with the chocolate flavour, thought the aroma is obvious and clear. You can’t drink much of it, but you can have at least once, when you have some.

Tasted 2010-03-29. Bottle. Pours clear, dark, amber with off-white head. Cocoa dominates the aroma. It reminds me of Youngs double chocolate stout, but the comparison stops at the aroma, for the taste shows, that this is primarily an old ale. Mildly acidic, slightly malty. Very balanced and very subtle in all aspects. Lotsa ppl find it artificial, but I like it - very much indeed. The cocoa goes very well with the old ale characteristics IMO.

Wow! This one is really good and well balanced. There’s not beer for every day or often drinkink. It’s like desert with good aroma and taste.

O aroma desta cerveja é muito bom por causa do chocolate. A espuma razoavelmente persistente. O sabor é um pouco amargo e levemente doce.

Medium brown head. Clear mahogany colour. Wonderful chocolate aroma with hints of vanilla. The taste is a bit of a disappointment: Sour-bitter. The great cocoa chocolate palate unfolds slowly, yet intensely. Very nice.

Bottle. Pours brown in color with a bit of a ruby hue and a cocoa lacey head. The aroma notes of cocoa, caramel, and vanilla. Flavor notes of cocoa (brownie sweet like) and vanilla caramels with a touch of a hop bite in the foreground. Sweetened up and the bite died as it warmed in the glass.
