Originally labelled as Ginger Tom. Label was changed to read Old Tom With Ginger circa 2011.
Ginger Tom is a lively breed indeed, a subtle snap of ginger creates lovely purring warmth for those cold winter nights, or a refreshing summer beverage when served over ice.
Specially brewed using an infusion of Chinese bruised ginger root and botanical extracts, this warming speciality ale has a pronounced ginger and spiced herb palate complemented by a sweet roasted malt dryness and wonderful ginger after burn.
Ginger Tom is a richly flavoured dark oak coloured ale with distinctive aromas of peppery spice and sweet ginger.

Dark dep amber brown with a frothy, lasting tan head. Smells of strong liquorish, ginger, malt, roasted malt, spice and ginger. Medium to light oily body and light carbonation. Tastes like soda but with strong liquorish. elements, Roasted malt with strong dry ginger and a bitter rather metalic finish. The Old Tom is good but the ginger here makes it worse. An interesting novelty though.

Pours dark brown from the bottle with a thin foamy head. Aroma is a provocative mixture of ginger and roasted caramel malt. Quite appealing. Taste is very sweet, with a warm ginger bite that lingers in the lips. Finish is long, sweet and warming. I like ginger and have enjoyed other Old Tom brews and expected to be a fan of this one. However the ginger is a touch too strong and leaves little room for the malts and hops. Good for drinking when you have a cold.

Fules (309) - Gyöngyös, HUNGARY - APR 6, 2016
Nagy, nagyon tartós bézs hab, sötétbarna szín. Illata intenzív, a gyömbér szinte mindent elnyom.

Nice bottle, no details about the hops, malts and drink temperature, You can smell the ginger at beginning, a red brown clear body with a small head, heavy sweet, not hoppy, a little bit peppery and roasted malts (I have a 0.33l bottle with best-before date DEC16 L5154 16:08)

Bottle, 0.33l. Clear dark brown color with thick creamy tan-like head and sparkling appearance. Aroma of grass, ginger, caramel, chocolate and dark fruits. Taste starts with moderate sweet caramel, follows by roasted malt and sweet ginger, mouth feel is spicy, while finish is moderate bitter. Medium body, oily texture and average carbonation in palate. Although I’m not a ginger fan, this one is still surprisingly good...

330 ml bottle. Clear dark reddish brown colour, thin white head. Aroma of ginger, with some sweet fruity and malty notes. The flavour is sweetish malty, with toasted and fruity notes, and a heavy dose of ginger. Nicely spicy.
