Trooper is a premium British beer inspired by Iron Maiden and handcrafted at Robinsons brewery. Being a real ale enthusiast, vocalist Bruce Dickinson has developed a beer which has true depth of character. Malt flavours and citric notes from a unique blend of Bobec, Goldings and Cascade hops dominate this deep golden ale with a subtle hint of lemon.

500ml Bottle. It pours a medium amber capped with a very thin head that dispels into a thin ring of lacing. Its aroma is citrus, malts and toffee. The taste follows the same lines as the smell with a slightly dry bitter finish. Overall not a bad pint and I would have again.

500 ml bottle. Pours a clear, golden orange with a very thin, off-white head. Aroma is toasted malt and caramel with a faint fruity note. Sweet flavour of toasted malt, caramel and a weak citrus note with a dry, bitter, hoppy finish. Medium body with an oily texture and soft carbonation. A fairly average Bitter/ESB.

Kobberfarge med et hvit skum som la seg som en ring. Aroma av malt, karamell og gress. Smaker av malt, gress, karamell og hint av sitrus. Tynn munnfølelse

floral, citrus, pale, clear, frothy, medium sweetness, medium bitterness, medium body, thin feel, average carbonation, this was a nice drink not what i expected by the looks of the bottle i expected some potent brew that could melt concrete put no it was a very pleasant drink .

Bottle. For such an aggressive, Iron Maiden-inspired label, I expected a bigger beer. But this is a fairly middling offering, neither offensive nor outstanding. Amber in color, quite still. Malty at its core, this is actually a nicely balanced Anglo-style beer, with a hint of floral twist. The label is misleading ... nice quaff. (#5727, 9/11/2014)

Poured from a 16 OZ bottle into a pint glass. Aroma- a good aroma of caramel malt and some earthy notes. Appearance- A nice copper colored brew with a an inch thick tannish head. Taste- A great tasting beer in a style that I have not fully appreciated yet (ESB). It has a very nice caramel malt flavor with a backdrop of hops. Palate- This is a medium bodied beer that has moderate carbonation. this is a great combo. Overall- This brew is a very good, I would definitely recommend others to try. Oh and did I mention the awesome label art?

Alengrin (1716) - BELGIUM - SEP 8, 2014
Tasted as Iron Maiden Trooper, named after an Iron Maiden song and made in collaboration with lead singer Bruce Dickinson. Snow white, coarse head, ambery orange blonde colour. Aroma of orange peel, peaches in syrup, melon, grass and sulphur (fried eggs). Dry fruitiness, earthy, otherwise rather neutral, some caramelly malts, thin mouthfeel, even a bit watery in the finish with some grassy hops. I had expected something with a lot more oomph, considering Iron Maiden’s music...

Bottle. Pours Newcastle brown with a white head. Arima is biscuit, caramel and lemon. Flavor much like aroma, some fruity esters in there too.

Been listening to a lot of Iron Maiden the last few days, so appropriate I finally dredge up my notes to enter this rating. Draft at Toronado. Amber pour. Caramel sweetness, biscuit - crushable enough, but I sure as hell don’t want to actually drink this more than once -- not gross or anything, but pretty meh. Beastie summed it up well as "an ESB that tastes like a lager."

Aroma: Caramel prevails, but there’s some tobacco leaf and a bit of nuttiness; lemon citrus tend towards pine. Appearance: Copper color with a foamy light tan head that settles into a bubbly skin. Flavor: Caramel throughout, much like the nose, but with undercurrents of mostly lemon and slight pine. Doesn’t dry out too much and has low residual bitterness. Palate: Medium body, slick texture, soft carbonation, abrupt finish. Overall: Solid bottled bitter, but in no way superlative. Certainly more of a fan beer than anything.
