Trooper is a premium British beer inspired by Iron Maiden and handcrafted at Robinsons brewery. Being a real ale enthusiast, vocalist Bruce Dickinson has developed a beer which has true depth of character. Malt flavours and citric notes from a unique blend of Bobec, Goldings and Cascade hops dominate this deep golden ale with a subtle hint of lemon.

Aroma was sweet, biscuity even cake like from the malt. The flavour was perfectly balanced by zesty, lightly spicy hops. Lightly sweet and lightly bitter, a very refreshing brew.

Bottle. Nose earthy hops and nutty malt with very light meaty/spaghetti character. Pours clear copper with red highlights and a sudsy beige head. Taste lightly bitter and slightly sweeter, has crackery tones that blur into bread, sticky medium body thatís lightly chewy with a touch of crystal, mild and flitting fruitiness, citrus which lingers and earth right up the middle. Low butterscotch, more in the feel. I had the urge to stifle a yawn, but it really grew on me with volume, and Iíd enjoy another!

Bottle, 50cl. Pours clear bronze copper-ish colour with moderate, off-white head. Fruity and malty head with hobs pleasantly in the background. Medium bittersweet flavour with hobs, malt, grass, citrus and toffee. Finish dry and bitter. Medium bodied, average carbonation. Quite nice.

Half liter bottle from Bruisin Ales, Iron Maiden label. Pours a clear medium amber color with a medium sized frothy tan head. Fair head retention. Aroma of toasted grain, caramel, toffee, a bit of green apple. The taste is toasted malt, raisin, a mild salty note, herbal hops. Thin-medium bodied. Meh.

Dark crisp amber with a light lasting head. Light but fragrant hop scent; notes of cedar, floral and citrus. Nice. Moderate drink with some decent hopping that raises it above Pedigree or London Pride. Could pound away watching a sporting event

Enjoyed on tap at Kumaís Corner in Chicago, IL. I think itís obvious why people get this brew - but I donít care, because Iím happy to have had it, sans the fact that I had it on tap and didnít get a chance to view the bottle art. Overall itís not too bad of an ESB/bitter, goes down nice and refreshing and is definitely "sessionable", can have multiple in a sitting for sure. Overall itís a decent brew.
