You know where you are with this ale. Gentle flavours. Neither very hoppy nor very bitter, a solid easy beer experience. No bells and whistles a nice foam, gentle hop and citrus aroma and clean finish. Comfort drinking.

Half pint, cask ale at Castle Hotel. Creamy, white head covering a clear amber coloured body. Aroma of leafy hops. Caramel malts well blended with fruity hops, hint of anise, too. Bittersweet tail. Nice Brit bitter (Manchester, 04.07.2012).

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Lovely dark amber colour, with malty but fruity nose. The fruitiness continued into the taste, with a nice bitter aftertaste. I definately enjoyed this one while on a day out in Bedgellert.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Light gold colour with a thick lasting white head. Hoppy citrus smell. Flat carbonation and medium body. Starts with a bitter taste and moves to a sweet malt and caramel and butter to a light dry slightly sour apple aftertaste. Over time the sour becomes a little sweet giving it a great balance. Very drinkable.

Cask - The Wilbraham Arms, Alsager. Small, lasting beige head leaving a uniform lace; clear dark amber body. Slight sulphur on the nose with grain, mid fruits and some bouled malt/sweet notes. Grainy homebrew-esque hop flavour and a light hollow malt sweetness. Finishes with a medium length bitterness and a lingering tang. Soft mouthfeel, light to medium body.
