No affectations, and certainly no gimmicks. Brewed truly to style, the aroma of bakers chocolate and fresh roasted coffee playfully waft from the glass. A rich blend of kilned malts give way to creamy caramel, subtle roastiness, and a hint of vanilla. The oats impart depth of character and a velveteen texture that rounds out all the flavors. Recommended pairings: Nutella filled crepes with shaved hazelnuts and a dusting of cocoa powder. Or as an appetizer, warm sourdough bread with Gruyer.

At the brewpub. A bit light but still very tasty. The usual roasted toasted notes. Not as oily as some. Good

On tap at Roc Brewing Co. Nice dark pour with a small tan head. Some lacing. Aroma of chocolate and roasted coffee malt. Nice stout flavor.
