joeneugs (282), Livermore, California, USA Mar 8, 2009 I’m not breaking any new ground here, but this is simply the best beer I’ve ever had. Words can hardly describe... but here I go anyway. It pours a dark purpleish brown with a towering fizzy brown head that collapses quickly. The aroma is something special. Fruit basket. Apple, pear, plum, raisin, slight notes of banana, cherries. You name the fruit and its probably in there somewhere. The taste is amazingly complex, super fruity like the smell. Sweet, spicy, dusty yeast, licorice, chocolate, overipe fruit. I can taste every great beer I’ve ever had in this one. It absolutely met my expectations which is saying something, and I was seriously bummed out when it was gone. Un paradiso per gli amanti della birra maxpizzo (44), Italy Mar 8, 2009 impressive production from rochefort.it has a good but hardly distinguishable aroma in which i found traces of dark fruit and caramel.brown coloured with a tan head.sweet but not too much and with a particular taste of malt and bitter hops.medium body with creamy consistence.it leaves a moderately bitter taste in your mouth.the greatest quality of this beer is the way alcohol is hidden, making rochefort 10 an easily drinkable beer, despite being 11%.a must for every beer-lover and one of my all time favorites possumjc (99), Charleston - Mt Pleasant, South Carolina, USA Mar 7, 2009 Bottle. Pours a cloudy red brown. Very carbonated, almost like a soft drink. Aroma has some hints of fruit and spice. Very hard to classify the flavors. There are a lot. Malt, hops, fruit. The 11.3 ABV is totally hidden which was a surprise. Very tasty and complex. Bloekie (149), Belgium Mar 7, 2009 Updated: Mar 18, 2009Not very distinguishable aroma. Nice dark beer with a nice head. Very nice bitter taste which lasts pretty long. Overall an awesome Trappist! BeerBunker (595), Burbank, Illinois, USA Mar 7, 2009 Pours brown with a frothy tan head. Lively carbonation. Aroma if malt, caramel, spice, dark fruit, and bread. Taste is of malt, caramel, spice, lots of banana, and chocolate. Has lots of breadiness to it. Mouthfeel is light, and heavily carbonated. Body is light, yet very creamy. Lingering fruit sweetness. Alcohol is very well hidden, making this an easy drinker. I don’t recall this beer being this drinkable. LtDan (470), LA - Originally from South NJ!, California, USA Mar 6, 2009 Dark reddish brown. 1/4 inch of offwhite dense head. Aromas of bubblegum, chocolate and banana.
