Commercial Description:
The top product from the Rochefort Trappist brewery. Dark color, full and very impressive taste. Strong plum, raisin, and black currant palate, with ascending notes of vinousness and other complexities.

Not my favorite but had to try it because of the good rating. Very dark color, tastes of raisins and plums with a hint of vanilla

Tested with two other belgian ales. Great brown colour with alive yeast on foam and bottom of class. The taste explodes with a round, coffie and fruity taste in perfect balande of each other. Colourful fireworks in your mouth. Extremely pleasant finish with taste of slight bitterness but mostly fullnes with the properties of a belgian ale. The alcohol strength of this beer goes without notice.

Gooood shiite. Nice dark brown pour with a good head. Smell is dark fruit and maybe bubblegum. flavor is dark fruit all the way with hints of molasses and toffee and....bubblegum. not sure on that. Im picking up a slight nut/chocolate flavor as well. Alcohol? what alcohol?.....its not even a little bit noticeable. Very well balanced. Everything seems to come together really well. Bit of a tinge at the end. Good stuff

More old memories... Pours a clouded brown color with a quickly dissapating tan head. Sweet, fruity, bready aroma, with a hint of alcohol. Great body, well carbonated, chocolate, caramel, creamy almond smoothness. No alcohol on the palate, easy drinking. A top choice.

Bottle. dark brown/black color with a thick off white head You wouldn’t even know it was over 11% alcohol unless you looked at the label.

Pours brown with a light tall cream head. Slight alcohol taste with dark fruit and caramel/malt. The aroma matches the flavor very well.

dark brown with big fluffy cream head. strong raisin and dark fruit aroma. flavor is malty with lots of dark fruit and then becomes very dry and slightly bitter. thin mouthfeel and a little alcohol taste

Bottle. Poured a motor oil color with a 1 to 2 finger off-white head. Aroma was very fruity with a semi strong alcohol smell. . Flavor was similar to the aroma. Started off sweet and fruity (raisin, fig?) and ended with a noticeable alcohol burn. Drinks more like a wine than an ale. Very complex and tasty. Still undecided whether I prefer St. Bernardus 12 over this or not. Tough call.
