4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Huge head and outstanding smell. Brown in color, very deep brown. Suprisingly very very carbonated. Tastes great, not even a hint of alcohol. Very sweet and the taste seems to get better with every sip. Great beer.

4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: AUG 6, 2009 Bottle. Pours a dark chocolaty brown with a good head. At first the taste is strong alcohol, but as it warms it gets better. A rich mix of raisin, spice, malt and some fruit. Complex and great.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
My 200th rating, how unimpressive in comparison to all the ratebeerians, but I’m glad to be apart of ratebeer and not beeradvocate.
Pours an orange-hued, particulate filled, murky walnut colour with a pillowy off-white head that fades to nothing, exposing the effervescent carbonation that never ceases. The aroma is vinous with sweet chocolate covered cherries, molases, raisins, orange slice, yeast, vanilla cask and a bit of smoke. The flavour is reminiscent of cherry cola, with black currants, liquorice, plums, candied sugar and yeasty bread, with a bitter, dry, alcoholic finish. The aftertaste reveals some subtle coffee notes. The mouthfeel is tingly and creamy. Strong bitterness lingers for quite some time and is almost astringent when you lick your lips. This is a real sipper and is very complex and warming. I think its a tad overrated.

thanks dra19, BillVanE, and jgd0608. Very nice drinkable quad. Pours a little watery which was a concern, but the flavor was no way lacking. A little bitter and plum in it.

Pours a very dark brown with creamy white head. Smeet malt on the nose with plums, candi sugar, and fresh bread. Taste is very big and sticy on the lips. Hint of cherries, plums, candi sugar and rasins. Finish is overwhelming with fresh bread. Good.
