20160605 Home; 33 cl bottle; BB 20210316: A bright rubbish colour with a good brownish foam layer which stays very good for a high alcoholic beer. The complex smell is sweet caramel, chocolate, alcohol; Red/dark fruit (raisins, black berries); dark malt. The taste is even more complex besides the alcohol and the sweetness. A malty bitterness which give the beer a mocca-chocolate taste with dark fruit (raisins and black berries). Also a liquor-like feeling. Just a little more carbonisation as a normal beer. A malty bitterness with some hops in the aftertaste. A nice complex beer for a finish of a beer tasting party.

Its a nice amber with right head when poured. Initially too much alcohol but the it settles and very drinkable. Not sure i would drink a six pack but nice to finish the night with

6an är bra, 8an bättre men 10an är lätt bäst. Mycket doft och smak i denna! Torkade frukter, sötma, kryddor, karamell, jäst. Riktigt bra, en öl man gärna njuter av i lugn och ro! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a hazy dark brown cola colored with a thin tan ring. Medium carbonation and plenty of lacing. Nice tart aroma of Brett and Belgian spices. Flavors of caramel, toffee, and light spices burst onto your tongue and linger. The finish is smooth with a hint of warmth. Hides the alcohol extremely well. Very enjoyable. Similar to Gulden Draak but not as sweet.

11.2 oz. bottle into Trappistes Rochefort glass. Pour is dark brown with a creamy beige head. Aroma is cherry, dark fruits, caramel, and has some vinous qualities. Taste is dark fruits, plum, Belgian yeast, spice, malt, caramel, vinous, and nutty. Has a creamy, velvety texture. Warming finish, but not overly so. Very complex, but I’d like to think the recipe is a simple one that has been perfected over many years. One of the best.

Aroma: roasty, malty and complex; Appearance: black-brown with off white head that dissipates fairly quickly; Taste: rich and malty, boozy, and smooth; Palate: heavy body with long, sweet finish; Overall: still a favorite of all time.

330 mL bottle. The pour is a dark brown color, nice shade, with a larger light khaki head that falls down to a finger high cap, but it fizzes like a soda, it’s definitely not thick beer like. The aroma is interesting. Very complex. There is a nice sweet malt that meshes with a light vinousness and carries a good bit of dark fruit. There is a strong sweetness that isn’t as bad as I thought it was at one time. Thanks, changing palate. The flavor is good. There is a lot of sweet malts and a good punch of dark fruits and a light caramel There isn’t a whole lot of complexity in addition to that. This is nothing like a traditional belgian, and all of the good qualities that I look for. The mouth feel is a little thin, but the fizzy carbonation really throws it off. The aftertaste is lingeringly sweet and carries a light fruit to it. It’s not too bad, much better than I remember.

Rochefort 10 cellared 3 years Pours a dark brown color with a fluffy, fizzy, two finger sized head. Fantastic aromas of ripe sour cherries among rock sugar and roasted malts, very intense on the nose. Almost a little boozy, but amazingly well integrated into the decadent sweet aromas, balanced by old wood and toasted walnut shell. Has a very lively, bubbly carbonation, which makes the beer’s heavy body unfold in a lighter manner on the tongue, also washing away its boozy peak, which is recognizable for just a split second, while leaving with a long lasting warmth down the throat. Cherries from the nose are amongst the flavors from the very beginning, entangled into toffee, licorice, dried wood bark and autumn leaves. Malts have a toasty richness in this, which is heavy on the tongue, opening up the palate perfectly to the sweeter flavors, and makes it possible to integrate its warm boozy note so perfectly well. Nuttiness mingles into the warming alcohol, producing a cola sweetness, calmed by old earth and toasty malts, while finishing with a bubbly mineralic tone and dried plums. I am blown away by this one, this tastes perfect. Love the dried, sugared, alcohol soaked cherry note, which blends into roasted, rich malts. All flavors are intense and well pronounced at the same time, creating an awesome balance, making it possible for the different components to pack such a huge punch.
