COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The top product from the Rochefort Trappist brewery. Dark color, full and very impressive taste. Strong plum, raisin, and black currant palate, with ascending notes of vinousness and other complexities.

Very nice beer, strong aroma and flavor. Tastes like a roasty chocolate, as for me nice. Head disappears rather quickly. High ABV so be careful before you enjoy to many :) One of my fav black beers!

UPDATED: MAR 30, 2016 Aún teniendo 11,3 grados de alcohol, no se nota en la boca. Aunque sí en el espíritus. Buenísima.

Two labels on the bottle with information about the drink temperature but not about in details the hops and malts. A black beer with a cappuccino head, a nose full of chocolate, full budy, creamy in the mouth, flat carbonation, short and not dominated finish, (I have a 0.33l bottle with best-before date 01.2021)

It is a dark brown with some hazing. The head has a mousy look to it in a tan color. Strong fruit ester aromas that feature cherries and plums that features a bready malt and spices. There are also perfume aromas as it warms. The taste features bready and toasty malts with cherries and plums. There is a vinous quality to it and strong alcohol, but it is not hot. It is mostly sweet with a slight bitterness that creeps in towards the finish. It has a moderate feel to it. It finishes very dry with alcohol warming.

Great beer, the aroma was very floral and lots of caramel almost a little bit like a perfume. The taste was nutty, floral, malty, and caramel. The beer hid the alcohol very well. The mouthfeel was great.

Dark fruits, caramel, toasted notes, good white/tan head quite persistant and very creamy, beautiful dark brown, taste of dark fruits, full body, high carbonation maybe i prefer a bit less, alcohol is well hidden, present only in the aftertaste, medium sweetness...oh wow, this is a bless.

Litt skuffet ifht forventninger. Mulig den kler et bedre viltmåltid, men alene så er Westmalle bedre.

Dark brown, lowish carbonation. Nice fruity aroma of plums, dates, caramel, and alcohol. Quite sweet. Rich and fruity. Tastes of dried fruits, prunes, a slight root beer quality to it. Some herbal notes. A tiniest hint of chocolate. Has a nice acidity in the end that keeps this from being overbearingly sweet. Very malt and yeast driven beer. Little to no hop flavor. Bitterness comes from the spicy phenols. Very complex, but easy to drink, even at the high alcohol level. One of the best beers in the world. Bravo.
