The top product from the Rochefort Trappist brewery. Dark color, full and very impressive taste. Strong plum, raisin, and black currant palate, with ascending notes of vinousness and other complexities.

Bottle from giant eagle gahanna. Nose is smoky broth and alcohol. Wine like and very complex, with hints of smoke, dark cherry, carmelized sugar and some thick stank malt. Strong and well deserving of its high rating. Would do again for sure. $$ but worth it.

Cloudy brown color, average sized creamy brownish head. Aroma of ice cream chocolate, nuts, red fruits, lots of maltiness. Taste of red fruits, dark fruits, chocolate, again lots of maltiness, strong raspberries presence. Full body, lively carbonation. Complex and smooth as hell. Alcohol is nowhere to be found. Classic stuff.

Geweldig bier.

Pours mahogany brown with medium frothy off-white head with average to good lacing. Aroma is malty, with lots of nuts, roasted caramel and milk chocolate. Lovely orange and resin hoppiness with some herbs. Broth, earth and leather dough yeast aromas. Notes of date, vanilla, toffee and hint of clove. Very complex and deep aroma with a moderate alcohol touch. Malty, deep taste with perfectly balanced hoppiness that make a long soothing experience. Palate is excellent - medium to full body, creamy texture, soft to medium carbonation with tiny bubbles. Alcoholic is medium. A beer worth its praise.

UPDATED: JUN 27, 2015 A very beutiful beer with a nutbrown color which turn darkbrown if you pour the sediment. It has hints of fruit in the aroma and a very good head. It is a very strong tasting beer with hints of fruit but also alcohol.

hard to believe ive only just had this. got a bottle from beergeek shop, had it on my own at home, friday night. pours dark brown with a tan head. amazing aroma of brown sugar, raisins, dried fruits, dark chocolate. taste follows. brandy, figs, plums, toffee, bit of coffee. the dark fruits really control the flavour. its malty and rich and the boozy dunt you get from it is perfect. silky smooth feeling and a dry lasting finish. man its just fucking great what can i say

Bottle shared in London during Paul’s 30th - big thanks to Fergus for this one! Vintage 2009. Pours mostly clear amber-red with a few floaty bits and a creamy, tan head. Rounded nose with lots of creamy, ripe fruits, berries, toffee, dates. Medium to heavy sweet flavorbwith rich, gooey toffee and caramel, fruitcake, bread, figs, dates, golden raisins. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly warming on the finish with continuing notes of rich bread, cake, ripe fruits, some creany vanilla, figs, toffee. The condition is great - this beer has aged well. Outstanding. Worthy of the praise.
