A - Pours a dark brown color, nice carbonation, nice foamy tan head, tons of lacing throughout the drink.
S - Scents of malts, raisins, prunes, slight caramel.

CaryTheDude (1113), Longmont, Colorado, USA Oct 20, 2008 Crushed with Jakebra. So pleased to rate this beer. Orange peel and other fruits on the nose. Flavor packs a whallop and the finish lasts for a few minutes, alternating and evolving the entire time with an overwhelming sense of euphoria coming in later on. What a fucking beer. wxman (582), O’Fallon, Illinois, USA Oct 20, 2008 Looks just like a Coca-Cola in apprearance after the pour, except the foam doesn’t fizz. Subtle, almost non-existant, aroma of maple syrup. To continue the Coke analogy, the taste is cola sweet along with a nutty caramel malt and cookie dough flavor. ABV kicks in after the swallow with characteristic warming in the belly. Very interesting effort. austone (998), Turku; Pori, Finland Oct 20, 2008 Updated: Mar 18, 2009Only 2 months old bottle. Murky red brown, nice foamy beige head. Dried fruity nose with malibu, banana liqueur, dark chocolate, herbs, hops, just great! Berry vinous, dried fruity flavor, herbs, apparent alcohol. Yeast hides some of the aromas, and brings amaretto-like alcohol more up front. Almost full bodied, strong foaming carbonation. Great beer even when this young. illkarate (89), Bloomington, Indiana, USA Oct 19, 2008 Well, I’m closing the triad tonight with a big 10 (no pun intended). Pours an amazing dark brown with a tan/amber head. Lots of yeast floating around in the glass, doing backflips with the carbonation. Extremely complex, flavors of plums, cinnamon, malt, brown sugar... seems to be some wood undertones, a bit of light charcoal, earthiness. This is a strong, warming beer, but the alcohol is balanced quite nicely. Definitely one of the best in the world. begbie100 (161), Oulu, Finland Oct 18, 2008 330ml bottle shared with a friend. Very dark brown color, almost black. Tanned thick and longlasting head. Rich fruity aroma with earthy tones, some yeast. Thick, creamy and oily palate. Flavor is fruity, wine like rich. ABV is very well hidden. Roasted plums, citrus tones. Aroma, appearance and palate are excellent. Expected more from flavor. jhagmar (114), Gothenburg, Sweden Oct 18, 2008 Bottle, thanks ekstedt. Reddish brown with an off-white head. Fruity aroma of port, tobacco, leather. Tasting reveals even more complex aromas including olives. Sweet taste with a slight bitterness. Very full, creamy mouthfeel. afireinside96 (807), Mountville, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 17, 2008 330ml bottle served in a trappist glass. Opaque dark brown body is topped by a receding tan head. Lovely smell of grapes, dark fruit, light spices, chocolate, and alcohol. Sweetness greets you at first sip, then spices spread around the tongue. Alcohol and carbonation follow to scrub the palate and dry. The cycle repeats. Alcohol creates a lot of warmth. The smell got me very excited but the flavor doesn’t live up to the hype it created. If it tasted as good as it smells this beer would be nearly perfect. Only if...
