TET (226), Finland Oct 4, 2008 Very dark brown beer with beige velvet-like head. Aroma is sweet and temptating: raisins, fruits and some spicys are also found. Flavour is not so sweet than you can expect based on aroma. Flavour changes quite dry in the end. Spicys, dry hops and fullness flavour with pepperness made from alcohol per cents are found. Rochefort 10 is wonderfull complex and strong beer that gives you joyful surprises for every mouthfull. timsilvia32 (445), from Michigan now in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA Oct 2, 2008 Thick brown pour, fluffy creamy head. Malty, raisin aromas, dark alcohol. Lost of different sweet tastes, malt, caramel. Some dark fruit at first. This definetely improved as it warmed. Mellowed and became a little more sweet malty like an old ale. Pretty warming, I don’t find the alcohol that offensive or even that present. Some lacing throughout. The best quad I’ve had for sure. hubcrawler (36), , Virginia, USA Oct 1, 2008 This beer is very complex. Had a thick, dark brown appearance with a modest, frothy head which dissipated fairly quickly. Aromas of alcohol, with some spiciness. The real interest in this beer lies in the complex flavors which come through stronger with each sip. Initial quick burst of sweetness which is overcome by some phenols, alcohol, and earthiness. Mild hint of banana with a thin, carbonated feel. ThatBrendan (8), Phoenix, Arizona, USA does not count Sep 30, 2008 One of the most beautiful beers in the world, and extremely tasty. Reminds me of the Cinamon Raisin bread my grandpa would bake when I was little. Thick, malty with a slighly sweet undertone and a soft finish. In a family of legends this beer truly stands out. paytoplay (121), , California, USA Sep 29, 2008 Great perfume, some sweetness, dark rich balanced, great finish. It really has it all and you can enjoy a 12oz bottle yourself. Very complex malt, smoke, wood, roasted quality and great texture. Dark christmas spice with carmel. Really enjoyable and glad it is somewhat available all the time. Hail to the Trappistes! pj1855 (154), Eagan, Minnesota, USA Sep 28, 2008 Finally tracked this one down. Pours a murky brown with a decent light brown head that doesn’t last. Aroma - some alcohol, fruit, bread and spice. Starts of sweet and then picking up some bread, spice and some saltiness Finishes with a slight alcohol burn. Fizzy carbonation. Very pleasant palate. Alchohol is hardly noticable for 11.3%. Excellent beer but I do think I like the St. Bernardus a bit more. miketd (679), Cleveland, Ohio, USA Sep 27, 2008 Agressive pour yeilds a mahogany brew with a huge, off white head. Aroma of booze, yeast, spice and ripe fruit. Flavor is too hot for my taste. Don’t get me wrong, I like alcohol burn when it compliments other components, but here I just get the heat with maybe a little licorice. Good body and an ok brew, but not my favorite trappist ale. BrandUP (10), USA Sep 26, 2008 Aroma is sour and pungent with a hint of spice and sweetness. Appearance is cloudy brown with a light brown head and nice lace. Flavour is magnifigant. Subtle, sweet with big malt taste and sweet finish, Little or no hint of alcohol. A wonderful trappist. Gets better with each sip! Great.
