The top product from the Rochefort Trappist brewery. Dark color, full and very impressive taste. Strong plum, raisin, and black currant palate, with ascending notes of vinousness and other complexities.

Pour is caramel with an off-white head with solid retention but very little lacing. Nose is like plum pudding: steeped plums/prunes/raisins, spices, caramel, molasses, toasted bread and nuts. Taste-wise this stuff is just stupid smooth for 11%. Lots of sweet dark fruit and roasted grain and nuts, boozy, vinous, almost port-like warmth. Carbonation is lively and the finish is so deliciously, perfectly dry. The booze is present, noticeable, but never overpowering. Damn fine stuff.

NOTA DE CATA: - Aspecto: Color amarillo cobrizo intenso, opacidad media.

This is a fantastic quad abbey beer. Great aroma, sweet, malty, and nice alcohol balance. A must of course.

This was my first Belgian Ale. I didn’t know what to expect. For the praise heaped around this beer I expected more but it wasn’t terrible.

One of the better widely available trappist abt/quadrupels. It is fairly carbonated beer, has a good malty flavour and interesting aromas.

.33ml bottle. Deep dark brown with tan head. Rich dark fruit aroma, raisins, rich malt. Big rich flavor, carbonation and hops balance dark malt and dark fruit flavor. Alcohol presence noticeable. This is nice, clean crisp and a Quad!

Beige, frothy head. Persistent. Copper/Brune, cloudy. Intense and persistent at nose. Honey, caramel, chocolate, raisin, prune, blueberry. Full body. Good carbonation. Massive warming sensation but the alcohol is not heavy in the taste.
