Commercial Description:
The top product from the Rochefort Trappist brewery. Dark color, full and very impressive taste. Strong plum, raisin, and black currant palate, with ascending notes of vinousness and other complexities.

It smells sweet like when you open a fresh bag of Gummy Bears. A bit of cherry to the nose and tongue. Can’t initially taste the alcohol but after it sits on your tongue you can catch a lingering of the alcohol flavor but not overwhelming. This is a really good beer, one of the best beers that I have ever had the pleasure of enjoying. Consider yourself privileged if you are able to enjoy this one.

This is my farovite beer. Very complex aroma, caramel and spaces taste, so gorgious that the alcool is completly forgotten. Unbelieveble smell, this beer would never disappoint anybody.

Bottle. Dark brown with a tan head that quickly settles into a frothy ring. Significant sediment. Aroma is dates, raisin, and brandy. Taste is all that and more. Brown sugar sweetness, but not cloying. Dark fruits and bready yeastiness yield to a warm alcohol afterglow. Fizzy mouthfeel and sticky finish. Iconic beer that’s everywhere you want to be.

Bottle. Dark brown pour with medium head and lots of sediment. Aroma of caramel, brown sugar, sweet malt, dark fruit and some spice. Flavor of brown sugar, raisin and spice and alcohol. That said, it certainly doesn’t taste like 11.3% abv. Lot of carbonation.

This is a BIG beer and is right up there with Westy 12 in my opinion, but much easier to get. The strength is masked by a wonderful mix of flavors. Looks great in the glass and tastes even better.

Dried Prune, Raisins, and a nice sticky carmely brown sugar ( But not sweet ) taste. You pour this stuff and the head on it jumps out to kill you with it’s carboney white bubbles. I had it when it sat out for a bit, wasn’t Ice Cold, but more closer to cool. . . The ABV really shines at this Temp. I loved it though. A Bit Pricey, a bit on the small side bottle size wise, but still pretty killer stuff. . . It’s a must try.

if it is possible to really enjoy a beer and be somewhat disappointed that is where I stand on this beer. has very nice aroma of dried fruits and malty sweetness. flavour is quite complex, a lot of fruitiness from the aroma translates into the taste, raisins apricots, banana. the main thing that I felt I didn’t like about this beer is the carbonation. I found it to be somewhat much, to the point that it impaired my enjoyment of the complex flavour. I do want to retry this one again, perhaps opening and letting it sit for a bit before drinking since I found my enjoyment of the beer increasing as I drank it.
