Commercial Description:
The top product from the Rochefort Trappist brewery. Dark color, full and very impressive taste. Strong plum, raisin, and black currant palate, with ascending notes of vinousness and other complexities.

Dried Prune, Raisins, and a nice sticky carmely brown sugar ( But not sweet ) taste. You pour this stuff and the head on it jumps out to kill you with it’s carboney white bubbles. I had it when it sat out for a bit, wasn’t Ice Cold, but more closer to cool. . . The ABV really shines at this Temp. I loved it though. A Bit Pricey, a bit on the small side bottle size wise, but still pretty killer stuff. . . It’s a must try.

if it is possible to really enjoy a beer and be somewhat disappointed that is where I stand on this beer. has very nice aroma of dried fruits and malty sweetness. flavour is quite complex, a lot of fruitiness from the aroma translates into the taste, raisins apricots, banana. the main thing that I felt I didn’t like about this beer is the carbonation. I found it to be somewhat much, to the point that it impaired my enjoyment of the complex flavour. I do want to retry this one again, perhaps opening and letting it sit for a bit before drinking since I found my enjoyment of the beer increasing as I drank it.

33cl bottle from Vinmonopolet. It poured a black colour with a medium beige head that settles down fast in the glass. It has a complex aroma that smells of alcohol, raisins, plum and malts. The flavour tastes of alcohol, raisins, dark fruits and banana. Suprisingly, it has a short aftertaste.

11.2oz bottle. Fantastic. Complex hints of dark fruit and sweetness. Fizzy carbonation in mouthfeel. The high alcohol is very well disguised. An excellent Belgian.

This looks, smells, and tastes better than any other quadrupel I’ve ever had. A great beer to just sit back, sip, and enjoy.

Beers like this are already documented to exhaustion, let me just concur that this is a wonderful vinous complex frutibomb that warms more than just the seat you are sitting on where ever you might be drinking this wonderful beer.

One of my favorites. Dark in the glass, lovely silky smooth head. Complex series of tastes, all in balance. I plan to lay some down in my cellar, because I have a feeling this one would improve with age.
