COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The top product from the Rochefort Trappist brewery. Dark color, full and very impressive taste. Strong plum, raisin, and black currant palate, with ascending notes of vinousness and other complexities.

Barbacoa in Boise. Happy Hour 2 for $10. Wow. Best before bottle 13.10.2020. Classic and what all quads strive to be. Deep flavor. Smooth lingering head. Happiness all around.

Bottle (about a year old) at home. I’ve been desperate to try this for a long time, and I finally cracked it this weekend. It was highly carbonated and foamy, which surprised me. Fantastic dark Belgian taste that captures all the best tastes of Trappist beer: raisins, dark fruit, molasses, candy sugar, and grain. Complex and tasty.

This is the drink that made me fall in love with beer. Creamy, dark fruits, chocolate and cinnamon. Always a hint of wood and caramel that runs through every sip. A meld that only a master brewer can accomplish. The most beautiful complexion, dark and inviting. So complex yet so accessible. It will make you grin with pleasure as you try to analyse what the hell you’re drinking. Never bettered.

Bottle - Slightly hazy light brwn colour, massive creamy beige head, good retention and fine lacing. Amazingly complex aromas of plum, chocolate, honey, raisins, red grapes, some cloves, dates, candy, toasted nuts, toffee with a touch of cinnamon some wood, herbs. Taste bings that complexity a higher level. Very well balanced, sophisticated and complex beer. Truly amazing and exciting.

UPDATED: JUN 28, 2016 WOW! The 8 was excellent but the 10 is a wow! beer. This one rivals a good single malt Scotch! Smell: molasses, moldy raisins, chocolate, caramel, hint of licorice. Taste: well integrated alcohol, prickly carbonation, dried figs, slight acidity. Finish: sweet and spicy, coffee, light hoppy bitterness. (tasted 04/15/16, BB 12/24/19)

UPDATED: JUL 3, 2016 Bottle. What a beer, and it?s just awesome to find it in every supermarket (like every Quadruppel) at a really fair price. Good big cream head, strong carbonation. Very sweet and fruity. Flavors : raisin, chocolate, caramel. It?s not really hopy (it?s so malty that it should be overly hoped to be tasted). Strong alcohol flavour too...

330 ml bottle. Pours dark copper with a light brown head. The aroma is lightly yeasty. Full body with average carbonation. The taste is pretty sweet with some acidity from overripe stone fruits. Caramel, honey, and brown sugar and an warming alcoholic ending. A little to much sweetness for my taste.
