330 mL bottle. Pours a dark brown with a large whitish frothy head that recedes quickly. Aroma is sweet with a lot of fruits. This is really tasty. Much better than the last one I had (suffered from some pretty bad oxidation). It may be a problem that I can get this regularly....it’s too expensive for me to drink much of it without going broke :)

Very dark reddish brown with quite quickly vanishing head. Leaves nice lacing though. Aromas: licorice, herbs, slightly vinegar, sweet malts, a bit toffee. Very complex sweet malty and spicy flavors: berries, raisin, Finnish easter pudding. Medium-Full -bodied, foamy and syrupy palate.

Bottle. Pours a very dark amber black with a monstrous coffee-and-cream head. Aromas of toffee, chocolate, dark roasted malt, prunes, and a good deal of red wine notes. Taste is nice and biting, with about the same aromas with the addition of some banana notes. Nice warming alcohol lingers.

A quadrupel with allot of character, right up there with Westvletern in my opinion, if not better. It’s dark and strong in alcohol, dangerously smooth. Strong tastes of ripe banana, dark fruit, alcohol and a characteristic nuttyness. Exellent.

Bottle from xmarcnolanx. Thanks! Pours a chocolate brown with a thin fizzy head that won’t go away. Aroma and taste are remarkably similar... strong caramel with dark fruits and bread. High and subtle effervescence. Some alcohol warmth, but it’s hidden well. Nicely balanced and very complex. Very nice.

Bottle, 12 oz. Murky and cloudy dark ruby with a lasting light brown head. Good lacing. Heavy malt aroma with molasses, caramel, and bread. Only light hops, but heavy on the yeast. Initially an average alcohol aroma, but grew as the temperature of the beer rose. Notes of plums and dates, as well as cask wood and nutmeg. A full body on the palate with a creamy texture and lively carbonation, and a somewhat bitter finish. The flavor lasts long with a moderate combination of sweetness, bitterness, and acidity. Overall I get the impression that I have yet to fully interpret and understand this beer. This was an "off-the-shelf" vintage (probably 2007). I would love to try vintages of five year intervals to see how it matures.
