Commercial Description:
The top product from the Rochefort Trappist brewery. Dark color, full and very impressive taste. Strong plum, raisin, and black currant palate, with ascending notes of vinousness and other complexities.

Pours a dark brown color with a lots of yeast in it. A medium big beige head. Aroma is sweet with nuts, burnt sugar and some banana. Flavor is sweet with dryed figs, raisins, vanilla, caramel, toffee and anise. After a while even some hops. Palate is nice with a sweet fizzy feeling.

33cl Bottle. Official Rochefort glass. Very dark, medium head. Very perfumy aroma: fruits, doughy yeast, caramel, plums, woody honey. Flavours: light caramel sugar and spices. Explosion in the mounth. What a superb beer ! I’m from Belgium and must admit I have rediscovered this fabulous beer. Only one negative point: too much alcohol ... it’s jumping to the head. You always feel something after driniking a Rochefort 10.

Bought from Swedish "Systembolaget" where it is part of the permanent selection, and is sold for $5 a bottle. Very dark pour, head disappears in seconds (unfortunatley). Nose of alcohol, yeast and plums. Complex taste of raisin, chocolate, dark malts, oak, apples and caramel. Excellent carbonation with tiny bubbles of yeast. Love the aftertaste. A very nice beer, and the best one among the Rochefort’s 6/8/10 (and the 12).

Bottle poured into a trappist glass at Union Jack’s Inn on the Manatawny produced a thin tan head with brown body. Not quite as sweet as the "6" but still one of the best beers around in my opinion. Unfortunately, this was served ice cold which I believe took away some of the aroma and taste. It became much better as it warmed.

came recommended from a flemish shop owner in Brugge as his favorite abt. pours a deep copper and can be clear if you pour all but the bottom 1/4" to prevent the yeast from entering. If you like the yeast the clarity is sacrificed (i’ve had it both ways and both is tasty) medium to strong carbonation at first but I let it sit for about 10-15 before pouring. Aroma really is bubble gum and caramel with slight alcohol scent. Flavor remains slight bubble gum at first and then turns to caramel, then raisin, then finishes chocolate. Very complex. My favorite beer hands down.

Very dark copper pour, large head fades quickly. Very perfumy aroma: citrus fruits, apples, doughy yeast, candi sugar, plums, rose-like alcohol, peach blossom, woody honey. Flavours are quite sweet: candi sugar, caramel, golden syrup, figs. Silky alcohol merges with a light bitterness to create an impressive finish that builds up in the first few seconds after swallowing. High carbonation (too high in my opinion). Some alcoholic tingling on the sides of the tongue, but not harsh in any way. Superb.

Tight when its first poured, this beer will open up aromas of lavender, caramel, various berries, and brown sugar if left to breathe for a few minutes. \a pleasant bitter taste complimented by oak, smoke, toffee and cloves. The carbonation makes this beer feel very mouthfilling, like taking a can of cool whip and jetting it straight into your open yaw. Swirl it around in your glass, you’ll be amazed by its super cool sheeting action!
