COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The top product from the Rochefort Trappist brewery. Dark color, full and very impressive taste. Strong plum, raisin, and black currant palate, with ascending notes of vinousness and other complexities.

Reviewed 9-9-10. Sometimes it’s tough to review a legendary beer after you have not had it in awhile. Questions like: Tastes change over time, and what if I don’t like it? are very commonplace - at least in my mind. Anyway, I picked this up over at the Arlington Whole Foods today because...it was there. I poured this into a sniffer. Ap: Dark brown, muddy water pour, that adds up to this beautiful fully cabonated (almost champagne-like), dark brew that has the foamiest head I’ve seen in a long time - unfiltered obviously. Ar: VERY subdued, but equally pleasant. I was expecting this big flood of dark fruit to start beating me up (like Raison d’Etre), but much to my amazement - no. Sure, I’m getting the fruit, but I smell chocolate. T: Sweet licorice right off the bat, then dates. VERY sweet. I actually think age will mellow this out. Not many fancy spices at all - just good old fashioned malts and sugars. Earthy and then some! P: Creamy as hell, with the intense sweetness being part of the brew’s charm. Lots of foamy lacing on the glass. O: 11.2 fl. oz. was plenty. Because the stuff has an ABV of 11.3, I’m feeling pretty good!

Look; fawn top, ultra dark ruby body, beautiful. Aroma; caramel, honeyish yeast, floral forest, bread. Taste; caramel, fruits, yeast, chocolate, brown sugar candies, apple bush, grassy hops - finish is sweet, malty, fruity and lingering. Feels soft, gentle, juicy. Overall very tasty, and women-friendly too. Valentine’s Day soon..... [33cl btl ll.3%abv, BB30.6.2020]

Boa trappista, achei a Rcohefort 6 melhor, mais equilibrada. Aroma um pouco forte, alcoolico, alcool aparece um pouco.

Maravillosa cerveza belga. Cremosa y con sabor persistente. Espuma duradera y dorada. Fuerte de alcohol. 11.3.

UPDATED: JAN 31, 2016 What a fantastic texture. Taste wise it is very good but underwhelming compared to the Westvleteren 12 but is still much better then your average Trappiest, the flavor is a little sweet and acidic in comparison. Still the texture is fantastic. A very good beer.

Dark brown color. Smell of Figs, plums, oakiness, sweet caramel/toffee notes. Taste of dark fruits....plums, dates, figs, some cherries, hints of smokiness, spice, caramel sweetness.
