The top product from the Rochefort Trappist brewery. Dark color, full and very impressive taste. Strong plum, raisin, and black currant palate, with ascending notes of vinousness and other complexities.

Bottle. Pours murky dark brown with hints of mahogany. A large amount of khaki head dissipates quickly at first, with a thin film lingering throughout. Moderate lacing. Nose is leather, anise, toffee, and earth. Tastes are super complex, with toffee and anise notes giving way to dried fruit and port wine flavors with a spicy alcohol note. finish lingers with hints of oak and vanilla. excellent!

Sin duda, una de las mejores cervezas que he probado. Sabor potente y a la vez equilibrado. Buenísima!!

One of the best beers I've ever had. Glad my bro in law hooked me up with this beer.

Bottle. Dark brown almost opaque black color and light brown head. Aroma has sweet ripe fruits, caramel, raisins, plums. Taste is a bit sweet but ends with a quite dry and somewhat bitter aftertaste. Flavors of raisin, ripe fruits, coffee, dark chocolate, malt, toffee. Very well balanced. Excellent one.

Great example of this style. Second best behind the Westvleteren. Perhaps a toss up.

This a true gem, it has everything. Beautiful caramel color. Amazing strong vinous and dry fruits notes. full body. Sweetness and alcool perfectly balanced with all the flavours.

Excelente!!

Degustata in bottiglia da 33 centilitri. Il solo pensiero di berla ti migliora la giornata o la nottata. Impeccabile all’apparenza è altrettanto buona. Riesce a mascherare gli ultimi di 11 gradi e rotti egregiamente, se ne bevi solo una... :) marrone scuro caramellata, pastosa, di carattere ed inconfondibile. Il top.

Purchased at Systembolaget in Sweden. Pours a dark beer with foam that quickly vanishes. It’s a beer with traces of dark fruit and chocolate. Gentle, mild taste with some sweatness. Best served in a Trappist glass. My favorite Belgian beer.

Dark brown color, small foam. Chestnut aroma but there is something else I can’t recognize, strong and full taste with alcohol presence and long lasting after taste. Beer with full aroma, but not to bitter nor to sweet, and every essence mixed right.

0.33l bottle. Muddy brown color with small head. Aroma of chestnut, plum and raisins. Taste is mostly dominating alcohol and leaves very dry mouthfeel.
