The top product from the Rochefort Trappist brewery. Dark color, full and very impressive taste. Strong plum, raisin, and black currant palate, with ascending notes of vinousness and other complexities.

Bottle. In aroma mostly dark, dried fruits like plum or cherry, In tase is sweet, with low bitterness.Great juicy taste with some alcoholic notes. Very good, stable white head. Very good beer. I recommend!

Pours an otherwise fairly clear dark ruby body, but huge solid climps of yeast come and sink to the bottom of the glass. This one had absoutely no head, despite the high carbonation. Nose has intense notes of plum, raisin, sherry, The taste is quite sweet with some dark caramel and chokolate notes and some warmth from the alcohol. The finish is fairly dry and somewhat bitter. High carbonation and rich palate, quite easy to drink despite the high alcohol content and warmth that it imparts. Very well made, complex and balanced beer. Too bad there was no head, otherwise close to perfection.

Massive mocha head. Fades slowly, nice lacing. Murky reddish brown. Raisin, fig, plum, alcohol aroma. Matching flavours with dried red fruit, brown sugar, warmth, slightly rummy. Med-full body. High carbonation. Dry but lingering sweet finish. Complex and rich (opposite of me).

Nog zo’n typische Belgische Trappist. Een donkere kleur, weinig schuimkraag.

Bottled, 33 cl. Aroma: raisins, dark fruits, plump hops, nuts, notes of cacao and dark natural chocolate. Appearance: dark brown, cloudy. Taste: plumps, nuts, a little crisp of bread. Palate: heavy body, texture - slick, long finish.

Brunatne, mętne piwo o obfitej pianie, która zdobi szkło i redukuje się do pierścionka przy brzegu szkła. Aromat przyjemny, słodkawy, alkoholowy, owocowy, rodzynki i śliwka. W smaku z jednej strony słodkie, wyklejające całą jamę ustną, a z drugiej strony wytrawne, ziołowe, alkoholowe.

Nose is a gentle mixture of banana, honey, raisins and malt. The taste replicates the nose, but adds further complexity. Dark berries, brown sugar, tropical fruit and some soft spices are complimented by a very soft effervescence and appropriately rich body. As good as advertised (if you are not a hop head).

Poors dark and heavy. Caramel, marcipan, figs, vanilla, hint of banana and raisin slight warm alcohol but not disturbing at all. Finish is long full of dark fruits. Just brilliant one of my favourite Belgians.

There is a reason that this is consistently rated as one of the top beers in the world, it's fantastic! Because of the alcohol content you need to be careful. But non the less one of my favourites! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
