The top product from the Rochefort Trappist brewery. Dark color, full and very impressive taste. Strong plum, raisin, and black currant palate, with ascending notes of vinousness and other complexities.

Dark brown color, looks just like coke actually. Off-white head, no lacing. Aroma of raisins, plum, some chocolate and grapes. The taste is complex, yet it’s easy to drink. Malty caramel and light bitterness.

It looks and smells good. Taste a little bit sweet (caramel, fruity), but mostly heavy bitter notes of chocolate and alcohol. It is good balanced. Although it’s clearly a good beer, it fails to interest me.

Thick head. Lots of sediment. Dark espresso in color. Heavy malt smell up front, hint of smoked alderwood and fresh clover. Velvety texture with nicely balanced hops. Prominent flavor is nutmeg followed by citrusy hop bitters rounding out with sweet caramel malt.

High quality, delicious and complex beer. Smooth to drink and hard to predict amazing taste from a relatively subtle aroma. Very dark and opaque in color with thick frothy head and heavy sediment.

0,33 l bottle in Hamburg. Opaque dark brown color, long lasting thick beige head. Delightful raisin, plum, caramel and malt aromas. Sweetish and spicy overall taste turns into a dry and strong, kinda alcohol - laden aftertaste. But still, quite drinkable for the high ABV. Lives up to the hype.
