COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The top product from the Rochefort Trappist brewery. Dark color, full and very impressive taste. Strong plum, raisin, and black currant palate, with ascending notes of vinousness and other complexities.

Cloudy brown with white foam. Malty caramel aroma. Maybe some dark fruit. Caramel, toffee, malt and dark fruit flavors. Some hops in the middle. Smooth well balanced and complex. Wonderful beer. There is nothing I don’t like about it.

Bottle pour split. Pours a dark reddish brown color with a foamy head. Beautiful beer. Subtle dark fruit, raisin and malt aroma. Delicious smooth flavor. A warming beer with the higher alcohol, but it’s practically non existent in the taste. Couldn’t get enough of this stuff. Definitely going to track more down. Incredible.

330ml bottle. Aroma of malt, wood, fruit and sweet caramel. Flavour is alcohol, brown sugar, vanilla and spice. A brown coloured ale with a large off white head and a strong and complex flavour.

Ottimo aroma, corposa, alcolica quanto basta. Una gioia per il palato. La migliore birra che ho bevuto.

Nez: toffee, chocolat, pruneaux Bouche: sucre, caramel, blé, chocolat, alcool. C’est bon mais sa réputation est à mon sens très surfaite!

Dark beer with a tall head. Complex and spicy taste with a persistent aftertaste. Warming alcohol which does not compromise the taste.

BBE 1/2018 bottle. Pours clear with bits of yeast sediment. Brown head and reddish brown color. Nose has malts, licorice, raisins and hints of pure alcohol. Mouth is a balanced sweetness with just a little bit of bitterness and a complex thick texture. Finish is long and smooth. Overall a very kick-ass beer after a little under 2 years of maturing. I’m glad I have more of these in the cellar.

UPDATED: NOV 24, 2014 Probably not really my style, after being an early fave in my craft journey. But a ripper if that's your thing. Big and fruity. Solid

330cc bottle. Fantastic beer. It felt a bit to alcoholic. I will buy a few to keep in for a year or so.

Molto buona, corposa, con molto carattere. Berla invecchiata di 3 anni permette di scoprire nuovi sapori.

Pours deep brown and clear with a frothy and long-lasting tan foam. Rich and complex aroma of caramel, chocolate, raisin and sweet plum. Medium/full body, creamy feel, lively carbonation. Taste is a bit drier than the aroma would suggest, and starts off with dried fruits, grape and some residual but well hidden alchohol. Long finish with sweet licorice, a hint of ripe apples and a subdued bitterness. One of my absolute favorite beers!
