COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The top product from the Rochefort Trappist brewery. Dark color, full and very impressive taste. Strong plum, raisin, and black currant palate, with ascending notes of vinousness and other complexities.

As you can read below...this beer just goes down easy. I’m trying to figure out how to clone it as a homebrew. But the sweetness and aroma are on point. I wish there was something better to compeer it too...but there isn’t.

Forget the pour and head and appearance. This product must be experienced if you even think that you are some kind of beer connoisseur. Imagine all the great buttery breads and candies and dark fruits in Europe. Put em together and imbibe. Truly something to behold. From Licorice and raisins to plums and walnut sweetbread. From Twizzlers and toasted nuts to bananas and apricot. The more you drink and think the more different combos and nuances you can come up with. A thing you must do. Wonderful and satisfying.

Underliggende trappistgær-noter. Vinøs i dybet. Uovertruffen god smag. Sødme, sødme/bitterhed og sort peber i slutbilledet. Men aldrig overdøvende sødme. Tilpas og majestætisk. Indholdet af kuldioxid er på et medium niveau, og ku' måske være en anelse lavere IMO. God lang lækker bitter og sødlig eftersmag. Flot øl.

330 ml bottle. Dark brown body with red hues, almost opaque. Disapearing beige head. Composite aroma of raisins, dried plums, caramel, ripe cherries and light bread. Taste of dried fruits, dark malt, dry wine, little chocolate, superb balance. Full body, flat carbonation, malty-alcoholic bittersweet finish. Alcohol isn’t subdued but definitly isn’t galling, rather pleasantly warming. Fascinating experience of stiring and sniffing.

Dark mahogany with no head served cool. Sweet scent comprised of malt, cinnamon, toffee, and particularly dried fruit. Heavy, sweet, creamy, malty, with a robust presence of dried fruit. Lingering alcohol aftertaste. Good, but unfortunately not as complex as I’d hoped.

This is a treasure of the beer world. I’m not as eloquent as some are but this brew is THE best I’ve ever had. Every week I buy myself one just to enjoy!
