The top product from the Rochefort Trappist brewery. Dark color, full and very impressive taste. Strong plum, raisin, and black currant palate, with ascending notes of vinousness and other complexities.

As you can read below...this beer just goes down easy. I’m trying to figure out how to clone it as a homebrew. But the sweetness and aroma are on point. I wish there was something better to compeer it too...but there isn’t.

Almost black color with a tan frothy head that stays long. Fine and rich beer smell: plum, raisins, dark sugar, slight portvine. Taste is full of dark fruits, plums, raisins, chocolates, yeast and spices. Beer tastes even better when its getting warm. Overall amazingly rich and complex beer, truly worth the ratings.

33cl bottle in Amsterdam on 29-Nov-2015. Dark amber colour with a fluffy tan coloured head which dissipates slowly. Aroma of Belgian yeast, berries and malt. Medium body and soft carbonation. Intense flavour, with the ABV well hidden but still providing a lovely warmth when drinking. Chocolate up front, followed by berries, vanilla and molasses. A smooth and warm, slightly bitter finish. Excellent.

Aus der Flasche in Lüttich. Glänzende dunkle Farbe und fester cremiger Schaum. Intensives Aroma nach Dörrobst, Vanille und Rum. Schwerer Geschmack. Extrem vollmundig. Großes Bier!

2013 bottle pour..produces a medium caramel brown color with a massive amount of particles that eventually float downward..pretty solid tan creamy head..nose is abundant with dark fruit..plums..raisins..currants..brown sugar...wow the mouthfeel on this is impressive..bold yet subdued..quite light bodied..can barely get any trace of the very high abv in play..creamy texture..long solid finish that is full of the dark fruit reminiscent of the style..excellent..

11.2% d’alcool? La pureté des saveurs le cache habilement. Sans contredit une des meilleures trappistes.
