The top product from the Rochefort Trappist brewery. Dark color, full and very impressive taste. Strong plum, raisin, and black currant palate, with ascending notes of vinousness and other complexities.

Good grief... This beer was enough to make me want to finally sign up for this site if that means anything. As good as sex... Aroma: Very deep, chocolaty, malty heavy smell. A hint of fruitiness but not very much. Appearance: A dark but ever so slightly opaque look... caramel and chocolate look for sure with about 55% light transfer. Taste: One word... WOW. As i said this beer is what made me sign up on this site... i feel i need to tell the whole world! It is a heavy COMPLEX burst of tasty flavors. I cannot describe it; just try it yourself. Redefines a quad for sure. Palate: Easy to drink with very little taste of the potent 11.3% ABV that is in there. It flows and fizzes like it was made specifically for me. Overall: The best beer i have had yet... i will be blown away if i come across another that is better/more enjoyable than this brew. You NEED to try this one for sure.

330 ml bottle from the LCBO.

Appearance: Pours a dark hazy brown with a finger of tan head. Short retention and subtle lacing.

Aroma: Nuts, apricots, yeast.

Flavours: Caramel, nuts, yeast, apricot, sweet malt and brown sugar.

Mouthfeel: Higher carbonation and a crisp finish.

Overall: I’ll start by saying I’m not a huge Trappist ale fan but ... this is one of the best beers I’ve had period. There are so many things going on with both the aromas and flavours and multiple subtle nuances.

Pours a very dark brown with a very large, slowly settling, foamy mocha head. Aromas of dates, figs, caramel, chocolate, muscovado sugar, roasted oak, vanilla. Taste is quite sweet with faint roasted notes. Mouthfeel is smooth with medium carbonation. Very very good!

330ml bottle at home. Very good Belgian quad. Dark brown, strong dark fruits without a taste of alchohol despite it’s high percentage.

Wonderful aromas of caramel and chocolate in harmony with fruity tones. Sparkling, frothy foam when poured. Clear dark-brown liquid. Well balanced sweetness and bitterness - not even a slightly taste alcohol even though it is 11,3%. Fresh and not too heavy. At first it is sparkling in your mouth followed by a creamy texture, and a fresh, light sweet finish. I really love this beer - a perfect quadrupel, in my opinion better than Westvleteren 12.

From a 33cl bottle purchased at Les Fleurs du Malt in Lyon (Thanks Cyril!)A very dark hazy orange/brown with a beige head. Remarkable aromas of plum, blackcurrant and raisins. Incredibly rich and complex with a mouthfeel that makes every taste bud come alive. Very long finish with tastes of fruit, caramel and dark chocolate. A truly great rich-tasting beer with great balance, harmony and complexity.
