The top product from the Rochefort Trappist brewery. Dark color, full and very impressive taste. Strong plum, raisin, and black currant palate, with ascending notes of vinousness and other complexities.

HMMM! Unfortunately for this one I had it the same night as Westvleteren 12. A very good effort but the flavor and patate are a spot off. Perhaps not a fair comparison, but if choosing one over another........

Söt arom med inslag av barrträd och kola. Syrlig smak med något sur eftersmak, hint av banan. Mörk rödbrun färg.

Dark brown, tan and creamy head. Mild lacing. Raisin, plumb, dark berry, mild citrus and mild floral notes. Full bodied, sweet malt, mild roast, mild alcohol, fruity, earthy and mild lemon. Medium bitterness, nice balancing fruity malts, mild spice, and nice dry notes. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Fast schwarz, im Licht dunkelbraune und rote Akzente. Hellbrauner sahniger Schaum. In der Nase malzige Aromen, Karamell, Likör. Im Mund sehr weich. Tolle Aromen von getrockneten Früchten, Honigkuchen, Karamell, Kirschen. Perfektes Bier!

Bottle, aged 2.5 years, deep brown color with dark red reflex, lightly tan head, not very persistent,. Sweet aroma, liquor notes, caramel malt. In mouth are smooth with really low carbonation, i have thinked about a much solid body, but it’s not heavy, almost silky, sweet sensation, dried fruit (raisins...), malt, liquor (good rum?), great sweet aftertaste.

Color is dark brown, with a beige head. The aromas of caramel and malt are dominant. Dark chocolate, plums and raisins can be distinguished in the taste, combined with a tender vinous touch. Although the beer has an ABV of 11,3%, it is very smooth to drink. Top class beer. Best beer I ever drank.

Reddish pour, little head. Aroma is big, currant, plum, raisins, apple and caramel. Taste is complex blend of plum, raisins and apple. Very nice mouth feel on this. All flavors mesh well. Really nicely built beer. Top of the list for style.

Color was dark amber. Minimal head, but it was good for 11% anyway. Aroma was something like sad layer, hidden alcohol. Taste a little bit vinous, well balanced.

Pours deep reddish brown with thick beige head. Aromas are yeasty, dark fruits. Nicely sweet, not cloying, with alcohol warmth and a bit of oakiness and astringency near the finish.
