COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The top product from the Rochefort Trappist brewery. Dark color, full and very impressive taste. Strong plum, raisin, and black currant palate, with ascending notes of vinousness and other complexities.

Bottled - my first quad. A whole bunch of raisin in the aroma, and a very sweet flavor but it’s very smooth and very balanced. Absolutely delicious.

This is my favorite beer that’s easily available. The foam is creamy, the aroma is sweet, it has a balance of flavors. Goes well with strong cheeses or steak. Highly recommended if you like dark Belgians.

bbe 05.2015 , coca cola like appearance. my nose and mouth cant really pick out what im smelling and tasting. medium sweet. finish is a pleasant light sweentess. This feels a lot more balanced and better than fresh, low carbonation. Alcohol well hidden. I can understand why this is great for some , for me it’s just solid with out the greatness.

Very sweet and sherry like. Raisins, dadels, liquorice and dark syrup. Nice one but trappist isn’t a personal favorite.

Smell: Banana & apricot Taste: Apricot & raisins Sweet sherry tone. It's nice, but I'm not sure I'm very in to the style...?

One of the Greats for sure. It pours a dark brown colour with an off white head. It hasa fruity sweet smell with a hint of herbs. It tastes sweet like plums and raisins with a slight alcohol after taste which is not bad considering its 11.5%. The mouthfeel is full with average carbonation. Overall, I can’t find much to fault.

Trappists are so wonderful, plum dried fruit, caramel in the back, pured dark brown nice thin head not too much co2. Lightly booze yet refreshing in its own way. A++++

Bottle 33cl. Deep brown with fast fading caramel coloured top. Aroma is heavy sweet. Taste is complex with sweetness at first and an aftertaste with some mild bitterness. When I drank this for the first time (some years ago) it was one of my favourites, but I don’t like it too much lately. Has something changed?

330 ml bottle at Klepsydra Bar, Athens Greece. Dark ruby color, slightly hazy with a thin beige head. Aromas of intense caramel and malts. Taste of dark fruits, plums, raisins, burnt caramel, dark sugar, yeast. Sweet aftertaste, pretty long. Full body with medium carbonation.
