The top product from the Rochefort Trappist brewery. Dark color, full and very impressive taste. Strong plum, raisin, and black currant palate, with ascending notes of vinousness and other complexities.

The Rochfort 10, is this cowboy’s favorite beer. IT is dark, powerful, and very complex. I get some BING< and some currant in it. My soul comes to life when i sip this sweet nectar. i am transported into the depths of my imagination. I am upon an ancient beach watching the PIRATES AND THE MERCHANT SHIPS barter for MANSLAVES> I am in space, I am in heaven. I am everything i want to be when i drink this beer. invincible. Drinking his beer reminds me of an Emily dickinson poem...wHen i close my eyes all the world drops dead, when i lift my lids all is born again...........My fire is eternally burning.....

Pours a dark brown with a fizzy off white head. Nose is dark chocolate, raisin, plum, currants, dark fruit. Flavor is smooth and rich. Lots of dark fruit, raisin, prunes, plums, toffee, cloves. Thick, viscous mouthfeel with a heavy body. Rich and warming, moderate carbonation. Silky and delicious. Gorgeous mix of dark fruit flavors and rich toffee and caramel.

Best brew while in Brussels, had on tap and from bottle. Great yeasty nose, lasting head retention, smooth and fresh on the palate.

Bottle from McHughs. Pours dark red brown with foam tan head. Aroma is dough, raspberry, chocolate, cherry, walnut, wood, earth, rum, ripe banana. So much going on. Flavour is sweet banana, bread, nuts, dry wood with slight alcohol wood finish. Full body with medium Carbonation. Really great beer.

Rated based on notes taken 25 June 2012 -- This is a solid trappist brew. I really need to buy some to age and see how well they do.

Don’t know if I had a bad bottle, but I really didn’t enjoy this one... pours dark brown with a big tan head that vanished almost instantly... very fizzy, and all I get is cherry coke... mouth feel is like a heavily carbonated can of cherry coke, and it leaves the aftertaste of cherry coke in my mouth... I’ll need to revisit this at a later date, because at the moment I can’t stop thinking about cherry coke!! Disappointing, as there is so much praise for this beer.

Pours a deep burgundy red with a khaki head of moderate size which quickly recedes to a third of its initial size. Aroma is dominated by malts - caramel, sweet biscuits, red wine and raspberry compote. Taste is caramel, hazelnuts, almonds, slight oak, some vanilla, a hint of tart berry, red wine, a hint of tart apple, dates and some pleasant alcohol warmth in the mid-taste. As complex as is described by the previous 4730 reviews. This tops the top 50 widely available beers list for me.

Excellent aroma and personality; maybe too high the alcohol percentage making more difficult to get the full taste.

33 cl. flaske. 11,3 % mørkt øl af den ultra stærke slags. Smagen er udmærket med alt, alt for stærkt til min smag. Købt i MENU Aalborg.
