Bottle. Hazy hazelnut brown with a large ok lacing off white head. Aroma is plums, nuts, caramel, moldy, oxidized. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter. Medium body, oily/watery texture, soft carbonation. A bit light on the palate.

UPDATED: MAY 1, 2013 Aroma is malty and sweet with lots of caramel. Taste is quite good, strong malt backbone with low, balanced bitterness, more caramel and a slightly boozy finish. A bit too carbonated imho.

Banaan, kruiden, hoestsnoepje, drop, verrassend volle smaak voor weinig alcohol. Fruitig

Copper, hazy, off-white head. Bready and nutty malt, brown sugar, dark fruit (figs, raisins), an earthy, fungal yeast character, light spice. Effervescent carbonation contributes to soft maltiness.

Fruity, malty and extremely mellow. Many great flavors vying for attention. Slightly too much carbonation, which seems unnecessary and surprising.

Slightly hazy but transparant orange reddish brown with fizzy carbonation a lively but very quickly diminishing white head. Very intense fruity and slightly boozy aroma fills my nostrills as soon as I pop up the bottle, even though I am placed half a meter from the bottle. Nose also has notes of caramel, spices and yeast. Flavor isn’t quite as intense, but sweet malty, with hints of nuts, cherries, nuts, pickled lemons. The palate is a little thin for the abv. Fruity, yeasty finish. Not as interesting as 8 or 10.

Bottle from a friend. Amber/orange color, white head. Sweet taste with ripe fruits, earthy notes, plum, malts, caramel and honey. Nicely balanced body. Sweet finish with fruits and hops. Magnificent trappist brew.

Well, maybe for the most people the Rochefort 6 is the least of the three. But what does that mean. Like the 10 and the 8 also this 6 is very good. With Rochefort you are sure you’re going to enjoy the drink.

Smak och doft av humle, malt, honung, torkad frukt, russin och karamell. Fruktig och god sötma. Lätt beska. Blir bättre av lagring något eller några år.
