| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 17, 2009 Pours cloudy brown with small head and fair lacing. The aroma is heavy on the sweet malts, there’s lots of caramel, butterscotch, and irish cheddar. The flavor is moderately complex, and sweet, and is similar to the aroma. The mouthfeel is light and slick. One taster described a kind of harmony in the Rochefort not found in the others. Very good stuff. michael-pollack (2761), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 16, 2009 330ml Bottle: Sweet aroma of funk, yeast, malts, dark ripe fruits, figs, plums, and light wood. Poured brown/amber/orange in color with a tiny, off-white head that disappeared. Hazy. Not sparkling. Light to medium sweet flavor. Tastes of chocolate, malts, dark ripe fruits, caramel, mocha, figs, and light funk. Medium body. Dry, coating texture. Average carbonation. Dry, sweet, malt and slight smoke finish. altonbrownd (1967), Amsterdam, Netherlands
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 14, 2009 Bottle at home. Another excellent Rochefort, although the weakest of the three, but that’s not saying a lot. Caramelized, complex flavour. Rocket-fire head. Fruit middle and solid finish. Excellent and smooth. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jan 13, 2009 Roch 6: Deep reddy amber with a big-bibbled off-white head. Pretty lively.
Light and appley. A few spices knocking around, a little cinnamon maybe. HInts of whiskey or brandy in there too.
Incredibly smooth and easy to drink, well carbonated. Lightly roasted flavours with a sweet touch of fruit. Bittersweet finish that drys the mouth somewhat. Very complex flavours here.
A little overfizzy if you leave it on the tongue. Great and oily.
The sugary sweet fizzyness seems to stick to the teeth a little but it makes up for it with complexity of flavours and lovely colour. Really lovely. AR (438), Georgia, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jan 11, 2009 Quite an interesting beer, although not near the delight of the other Rocheforts. The primary flavor is similar to maple syrup, but the taste changes as it settles on the taste buds. It has a lingering aftertaste in which the alcohol seems to come forth stronger than in the initial sipping. scrizzz (1352), kirkland, Washington, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 11, 2009 Some dusty dry attic on the nose, murky muddy brown, wispy fragile head. Cola forward and pretty fizzy as the body is on the light side of medium. Meh. The carbonic bite is more offensive for such a highly regarded brew. Figgy finish, rough around the edges like an inconsistent homebrew. I seriously need to sit on a bottle for 2 years and try it again, what am i missing here?
